If the price was right, Jolly and Armstrong from the Dees would be a nice compensation if we can't get Ottens.
Armstrong will only move to Adelaide and preferably to the Crows, otherwise he is happy to stay at the Dee's for the time being.

Actually Armstrong is Western Australian - think you've got him confused with Scott Thompson who wants to be traded back to Adelaide

Only if they chuck in Lenny Hayes!

Sheesh, just caught up on all the trade news and it makes for some very interesting reading considering its only Monday and no trades have been done. Will be a very exciting week to come.

Apparently, we've shown 'interest' in Nathan Thompson. Not sure what we would do with him, not really a full-time ruckman, not really a full forward either.

i think thompson would be a very useful addition as ultimately we want Doyle to take over the number 1 ruck position - however not at the price that the Hawks have been asking for

BTW i think it is ludicrous if the reports that we have been offering half our list for trade to get Ottens - i will be very disappointed if we trade 3 players and 2 picks to get him

                A few points so far:

Forget Kerr, he is clearly a bad egg.

Crawford may still be on the move.

The Geelong-Ottens "announcement" may well be a clever ruse (no pun intended) to throw other suitors off balance.

The Davis "offer" may well be more for Nick's benefit than out of real hope of getting something.

Richmond is clearly bluffing about a lot of things. They have stated that they will pick up Ottens with their first pick if a trade cant be found; that they will pick up Simmonds with the first pick so they dont need to trade for him; that the WILL trade for Simmonds even if they dont need to... make up your mind Greg and Tezza.

And not really interested in football either.

Yes, it most definitely was. I saw the footage that comment came from - the Saints staff were just heading inside while Roosy was being interviewed a few metres away and he piped up with that comment just to show how many stupid suggestions come out in the press during trade week.

Typical Roos, with tongue firmly planted in the cheek. I thought it was pretty funny.

I also liked Laidley's truthful comment about how everyone seems to want two first round draft picks for certain players, and there are only so many first round picks to go around.

I think a straight swap of Saddington and a first round pick for Ottens should be enough. Anymore and it's just not worth it for us.
