Not sure what you were expecting, but we wanted a ruckman, there only a few floating around, and we got a reasonable player with scope for improvement. The ability to draft a solid player at #15 is somewhat hit and miss, and we needed to address the ruck situation. Not a bad deal overall IMO.

      We have been shafted badly.
Stats are often misleading. Remember that Melb like playing White through virtually the entire game meaning not much game time for Jolly and hence stats that aren't inspiring.

Looking at his stats for just 2004 is a bit misleading because of the way Melbourne play. They run Jeff White for over 100 min per game as he works best that way. Doesn't matter who their backup ruckman is, that's their strategy and it works for them.

Consider his 2003 stats when he had more game time:

        19 games
        24 goals
        7 disposals per game
        14 hitouts per game
Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

You guys are so one eyed it's a joke.

The guy couldn't get a game at Melbourne! It's not like they are flush with ruck stocks either.

Just because he is a ruckman doesn't make him gold.

If Ball, Doyle and Goodes are fit, I struggle to see how Jolly will get a game.

1st pick for Jelly is way too much. Unless there are some other trades on the way, I cant see how this is going to improve our team at all.

I paid the $9.99 and have had no trouble getting in. Last time I was on - a couple of minutes ago - there were well over 450 people in drafts and trading.

He was promoted from the rookie list in 2001. Not sure what pick in the rookie draft.

Yes Captain, but what if any or all of them aren't fit - Ball and Doyle are injury prone and Goodesy was lucky to make it through last year!

Depth is not a bad thing and Ball only has a year to go. Ericksen looks like he is 2 years away and Goodesy won't play first ruck again supposedly.

I think it's an ok deal. Not great, but I'm glad we got a decent ruckman all the same.

Maybe Roos is lined up to trade a player for a draft pick... who knows? All I know is that we're supposed to be cutting down our list not adding to it!

I keep thinking that Fosdike won't be at the Swannies next year. You don't often hear a coach say that a player is happy moving back to Adelaide if they aren't going to go there.

Not one eyed, just calling it as I see it. I watched him a bit in 2003 and 2004 and thought he looked reasonable.

I suspect Ball will remain our preferred ruckman, because of his ability around the ground, however he will be slowing down to some degree this year so will need more backup. I think Jolly will be a more effective backup than Doyle and I don't imagine Goodes will spend much time in the ruck.

I dont think it's being one-eyed at all. We look more at it more harshly as we are all Swannies.

As for "making more sense", well anyone makes more sense than you Captain Fu*kwit.
