18 wins

Analysing the soft draw we have this year, I see absolutely no reason why we wont win 18 games during the season which would ensure a top 2 spot, likely 1st.

Rather than list wins, the 4 losses I expect are:
Round 3. Brisbane at the gabba
Round 6: WC in perth
Round 10: StKilda in Melbourne
Round 20: Brisbane at home. (which you could raffle with Round 8 Port at home)

I did a little calculation the other day and allowing for a worst case scenario, say one win for every two games for the rest of the year by my calculations gets the swans at least 12 wins for the year.
Money well spent for the Swans to be in the final 8.

LOL! I dont see why we're stopping at 18 wins though. I personally think that all games are winnable, so we could finish with 22 wins and be top of the ladder. Then we can get home ground advantage all the way to the GF, which means 24 wins on the trot, which makes us unbackable favourites to win the GF. Too easy.

Very hard to see us winning 18 games in the H&A season when we consistently average only 4 away wins each year. Our best year in recent history was in 2003 where we won 5 away games in the H&A season.

We beat Hawthorn, faves for the spoon, at home by 10 goals. Let's not get carried away.

Our away games are (Excluding manuka where we have the bigger crowd)

St Kilda

which I've conceeded already.

Carlton - mid table side
Melbourne - mid table side
Adelaide - Spoon material
Essendon - mid table side
Hawthorn - hot spoon favourite

If we cant beat this motley crew in melbourne, there aint much point turning up for the GF down there.

I think Brisbane Rd 3 and Rd 20, and Saints Rd 10 are winnable. However, we always suck against Adelaide at AAMI and Essendon in Melbourne.

The wooden spooners beat us at home last year. I'm with the egg collectors. One hatched so far, let's keep our eye on the incubator.

All the games are winnable, but there are other factors to consider:

- Injuries / suspensions
- Umpiring
- Our inexplicable ability to drop the easy games
- Weather (we aren't that hot in the wet)
- The pressure of expectations (like these ones here)

Remember that we haven't won more than 5 straight for a number of years now.

Having said all that, I still think about 16 wins is a reasonable expectation and would probably put us in the top four, and as high as 2nd on percentage.

Aye, how soon last year is forgotten?

Strange things happen, How many matches do we have Goldspink umpiring? How many coaches can get the right game plan to stop us? How many times will Roos slow the game down too much to our detriment? Swans are great at losing winnable games.

I am glad we are playing Geelong only once - they may beat us at home. Melbourne will probably beat us at least once this season. Can't see any reason why Port Adelaide can not beat us at home either.
