You know how it is, the usual story:

you go to all the games
you stick their number on your guernsey
    you wear their badge
you put their poster on the wall
    they sign your cap
you talk to them at aftermatches
    they may even hug you

And then next time they see you its like they dont even know you !!

      Yep, try testing it out.

Go down to any football club and offer the players half of what they're getting.

Let me see now... Kouta accepted, Hird didn't, Ottens didn't, Allen did.

Not really conclusive is it? And how many people keep working where they are even though they are underpaid? Happiness is the still key. Especially in staving off the "homesickness".

You sound a bit bitter and twisted there Mark. Did one of them steal your potato from the pre-match lunch or something?

We are talking about how great it was for a player to celebrate a win with. Yet somehow both we AND him manage to get slagged in the process!

              Well said JF!!

I guess Mark must remember every single person he has ever been introduced to or glanced at.

Following a football team is about having a number on your back, badge on your hat, screaming like an idiot at the umpires, sheading a tear celebrating a win and letting off steam with a bad loss. I'm proud to say I do all those things but I am NOT a self-obsessed supporter.

Funny, but I took Mark's statement as tongue in cheek. A bit of Har Har.

Of course it's purely hypothetical who we would have got, but it's just something to keep in mind.

Fwiw I'm very happy with Jolley. Probably better to compare him with Andrew Erikson and James Mieklejohn rather than Dunn though - we get a game hardened ruckman, rather than two 'development' players that a) haven't made the grade as yet, or b) didn't make the grade. We could have used the three ruckman vs the Kangas - woulda bin a good way of really testing their defence.
If Lynden Dunn is from Moonee Valley FC as stated, he will not play a single game of AFL - and therefore the Swans win big time.

I am only generalising here, but Moonee Valley FC were never known for producing footballers at all, more like street drag racers, fruit & veg shop sons, clubbers, no neck bouncers, wheelers & dealers etc etc......When Angwin got sacked from Carlton last year for turning up in an unacceptable state for training, he headed straight for Moonee Valley FC, whereby he would hav blended in perfectly with the riff-raff....

Dunn will be the first and only footballer from Moonee Valley FC to play AFL.....

P.S. I got the shock of my life playing against Moonee Valley FC in Under 16's when 5-6 of the MV boys turned up driving there own cars and having full beards....
Well somebody told me, You had a boyfriend, Who looks like a girlfriend,That I had in February of last year, It's not confidential, I've got potential

If the players don't clap in my direction at the end of a game I tend to be depressed for the next few days.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Have you tried painting your face or wearing a funny wig or hat ?

You can draw much more attention to yourself that way !
