Maybe Demetriou could comment on other sides - stuff growing the game when we have Goldspink all the time. They dont support us - they only listen to Malthouse and Sheedy - come on get real - SEE SEE

I went down for the Anzac Day clash and that was pretty ugly football as well. Not as many stoppages as us, but ordinary skills and inept tackling. I knew the Lions would come out and thump the Bombers as Collingwood made them look good last week.Comment

I know many Swans fans who dont bother to watch the swans on TV anymore.
Its maddening that for the first time in our history we get plenty of prime time TV coverage, and we play footy that wastes that leg in the door.
Imagine the capper or plugger days with prime time coverage.Comment

At the moment, I would just settle for winning football
Mate, I seriously don't think we can in Sydney. People will start switching off. If we get 35000 on Saturday night against lowly Essendon, we can consider ourselves lucky I think.
To be honest I'd rather us be playing exciting football and losing. AND PROVIDING A SPECTACTLE (as we saw at Melbourne -Freo today) than seeing the horrid football we get from our team every week.
I have been quiet publicly about my criticisms of Roos as coach. But I am seriously starting to wonder if his philosophy is going to be one that is going to promote the game in its best light in Sydney.
It is not JUST about winning in Sydney. It is about winning people over to our game. We never will with the footy we are playing at the moment.

i am pleased about demetriou's comments,he is entitled to an opinion the same as we all are at rwo,and he said exactly what the majority here have said all season.
as for colless' indignation.......THE TRUTH HURTS.....but he has to be seen to support his coach.
the entire organisation needs a deep rethink of where the club is heading, right now it is free fall with no sign of a parachute.
i have been a swans member since they came to sydney.been thru the years when we couldn't win a game, but i went to everyone at scg, these days i don't travel and cringe in front of the tv,next step leave the tv offforgotten 1996

These are all very bad signs. The AFL and Swans need to do something.
Roos has to go. Not just for the good of the team but the good of the game.
Roos is single handedly doing more than any other person in football to bring the game into disrepute!
He should be sued by the AFL.Comment

For the first time in years I didn't watch the game yesterday. The Bris-Ess game was much better. The AFL will support Sydney even if the fans don't so why not start to change things now ie gameplan, play youngsters etc---------||--ANNE--||----------Comment

Agree that Demitriou was only saying what most people are thinking anyway.
Swans are a laughing stock of the AFL at the moment.
Kicking only 8 goals a match is embarrassing.
Hopefully pressure from the AFL may jolt some people into action, though I doubt it."As everyone knows our style of football is defensive and unattractive, and as such I have completely forgotten how to mark or kick over the years" - Brett Kirk

I don't blame him.Vicky Pollard: Oh my god I so can't believe you just said that this is like the time I threw Anita's nokia in the canal as a joke and she's like you have well got to buy me another one and I'm like get over it and then Paul came over who's adopted anyway and started saying that I fancy Mark Bennett but oh my god just because I have sex with someone doesn't mean I fancy them.Comment

Yes Demetriou is hoping to develop the game here in Sydney, but no he has no right to step into the coaching/tactics side of things.
His responsibility is for the whole of the AFL, not just one bit of it.Premiers 09,18,33,05

Still over stepping the boundaries of his job description IMHO, I am sure commenting on onfield matters of one team is not part of his job, no matter what his personal opinion is.Premiers 09,18,33,05
