Well done LRT at playing at a senior stanard of AFL.

He should've kicked those 2 goals. One of them, he was going to pass onto O'Loughlin I think?
Vicky Pollard: Oh my god I so can't believe you just said that this is like the time I threw Anita's nokia in the canal as a joke and she's like you have well got to buy me another one and I'm like get over it and then Paul came over who's adopted anyway and started saying that I fancy Mark Bennett but oh my god just because I have sex with someone doesn't mean I fancy them.

I can feel another multi-page LRT thread coming along...

OK, so he did look hopelessly lost when having his 2 shots for goal in the 2nd quarter, but yes, defensively he is improving. His quick handballs did get us out of trouble a fair bit.

      Love Midaro's Bush analogy btw!

That said, he really, really needs a haircut.

Buzz off, no such thing as style-stealing.

Seriously he did a great job and kept his feet when many others were losing theirs on that terrible surface. Wonderful bit of play in the last quarter which ended in a goal.

The new tactic of teams to limit our scoring will be to drag LRT back into the goalsquare.... our offensive one that it is

He did do a good job, but you have to be honest it was like the blind leading the blind having LRT and Ben Holland play on each other.

The LRT situation at the moment reminds me of Bush in the 2000 presidential election. Everyone assumes that he will be so completely awful, that when he is simply plain awful, he's regarded as having been good.

                  It's perverse.
I think I'd vote for LRT over GWB.

LRT is getting better - I actually think his defensive work is very good. He showed a bit of nous last night to run forward and put pressure on Holland.

If he had kicked that goal it would have been great work - BUT he tries bloody hard. I reckon in about 2 years he will be an above average player.

It was quite funny,i went to casino after the game last night obviously still in my swans gear.Everyone just wanted to talk about the swans and how good it was blah blah blah, but at one stage while at the bar i happened to be in a conversation where we were bagging Holland, and then a swans supporter there said exactly what has been said here over and over again,"He Got beaten by LRT,how would you feel? LRT can't kick, can't mark, can't run" it now has me thinking,

                    Scott,was that you?

I called it at the time, and I stand by it now, that if LRT was able to get the ball a few times in the forward 50 we would win easily, coz even if he didnt score goals, it would mean that we were completely upsetting Melbourne's structure.

Missed 2 set shots (tho, the second one was a tight angle). His opponent, Holland is a dud, (just look at his shot on goal, OOBOF). Holland also got some fairly easy possesions coz his opponent was miles away, two of which resulted in goals.

His grab off the ground between two dees, just outside their F50 was great.

And his team mates kicked it to him a couple of times.

Overall he did some good, but he was on a dud. (even the dees supporters near us were telling him to leave the ball to someone else.)

This is probably the most stupid post I have ever read here.
(Although it maybe symptomatic of this site, as after 2 cracking wins that have elevated us to top 4, there are still more posts in the "negatives" thread than the "positive" thread).

LRT beats his man comprehensively. In fact I doubt one of our backmen did more to nullify their opponent than LRT. Perhaps Bolton, perhaps crouch (although the finger injury to Yze helped).
Ok, Holland is no carey, but he's still CHB of one of the better teams around, and his strength is his body on body marking. I didnt see too many contested marks.

Critising LRT for not kicking goals?! Madness.

Fools like Scott are wasting there time concentrating on CHB as our problem. FFS, its Full back thats the problem area. If LRT was getting towelled up like Leo has been lately, even I'd be calling for his head. No disrespect to Leo, but he just not FB material.

You should not be calling people names here barry it is not very becoming of you. This thread is NOT about FB, FFS. AND Holland is no Carey, and does NOT play CHB, that is why LRT was on him.

The fact that LRT "beat his man comprehensively" is coz they were not at too many contests. Were you at the game? Did you see how many contests they were both at?

Where did I criticise his goal kicking??
I merely pointed out that he missed two set shots.

appologies for name calling, but you frsutrate me with your blinkered biased views.

                              Obviously CHB was a typo.

There werent many contests because demon midfielders saw that Holland was covered most of the time....by LRT. Just another 0.5%-er you dont hear about.

If LRT is having shots at goal, it means the opposition is in disarray pushing the CHF back to excessively flood. Miss or get them, the game was over as soon as it happened.

At the end of the game there were 3 critical points that stopped the rot. B1 marked just outside our D50, ditto B2 on the other side of the D50 and LRT's grab off the ground, in a 2 on 1 (against) situation.

And I think the reason they don't kick to Holland is coz he is a dud.
