    Koschitzke

The Kosi-to-Sydney rumours aren't going away, and this makes me very glad indeed. Kosi is a top three player in the competition at the moment. He's worthy of being our best payed player.

I'd trade our first two picks and, say, Ryan O'Keefe in an instant. That's not intended to denigrate ROK - but if we were able to pick up Koschitzke, he could be our most important recruit since Plugger. Yes. I know that includes Hall.

Yes, courtesy WLF. It seems Carton and Sydney offering $600K plus per year, only about $300K over and above what the Saints will offer. I think it depends on the trade price. Saints would probably insist we trade one of our best to Carlton or Hawthorn to provide a low number draft pick as part of the deal. If Kossie is interested it will be very expensive. GT may be a rubbish coach, but he knows how to do a deal.

Goodes, Hall and Barry are off the table, for various reasons. Anyone else, and we can at least talk.

Now I would love Koschitzke at the Swans from next year and would trade picks like you suggested and maybe a player from a select list but I would try not to add a valuable and required player into the deal because that could end up hurting us more than it helps us.

At the end of the day I think if he left St Kilda (which I don't believe will happen) he'll stay in Melbourne and move across to Carlton who are clearly striping salary and looking to the future. They have players they are willing to give up that we don't have and if it comes down to draft picks on offer, Carlton will beat us everytime. Plus if no deal is done Carlton have the free ride known as the Pre Season Draft.

Thems the breaks of finishing so high on the ladder.

He would be an excellent signing for us - he's one of the best young talents going around at the moment. I thought he'd made it pretty clear he wanted to stay with the Saints though?

Rob - how many players on the list do you think might be more important next year than Koschitzke?

If I were Kosi, I wouldn't look at Carlton. Why mess around with three years on the bottom of the ladder, when he could get similar money from Sydney? His decision will be between loyalty and possible premierships at St Kilda, or money and possible premierships at Sydney.

Implied he wants to stay but is clearly looking at offers from interested clubs and reports have Carlton and Sydney offering him deals worth double what St Kilda can offer him. Now he is clearly happy at St Kilda and would stay for less money, but when your getting deals worth double what you have on the table you look, who wouldn't????

The guy definately deserves this kind of money. He is a bloody star.

Would think the Saints would want an early pick so their salary cap doesn't take any more beating.

Three way deal with either the Hawks, Blues or Collingwood would be the go.

Apparently we have alot of players coming off contract at the end of this year. Would be interesting to see who is in this list.

This is all still a dream though.

He's got a future made at St Kilda, and as Charlie said, the possibility of premierships. I can't see him leaving. If he does, Carlton has a fair bit more to offer in terms of draft picks than us and is certainly closer to home. But that said said, I certainly would love to have him on board! ROK could be decent trade material, and we probably wouldn't be losing anything as he and Kosi are a similar brand of player.

Would have to delist Heath James to free up room on the injury list.

I would take, Hall, Magic, O'Keefe, J-Bolt, C-Bolt, Barry, Kirk, Jolly, Ablett and Goodes off the table - thats our future. Sure Koschitzke would be a fanastic pick up, but I'm not interested in throwing away valuable players for an injury prone but talented none the less K/P Player who rather plays forward than in defence.

I would offer Our first picks and Doyle for Koschitzke and I think the club would be thinking the same way rather than an O'Keefe.

I would look at Carlton and I would pick them over Sydney if I was in his shoes because Carlton would be willing to build a team around me in my perfered position, rather than Sydney who see me as only a piece of the puzzle.

His decision will be between loyalty and possible premierships at St Kilda, or money and possible premierships at Sydney.

If money comes into it, off to Carlton he goes

Sad as that would be, I just don't think we are in the position to win a bidding war with Carlton when they have players to trade and earlier draft picks.

Has been stated that he of all the Saints would be most likely to leave for mercenary reasons. Has a good head on his shoulders in addtion to being a great player. Only query is his body. It's true that Swans and Blues have offered 600k. Doubt he'd go to the latter as his formative years in the game included the Saints rebuilding period.

Does Carlton get priority draft picks at the end of this season ie is their punishment for salary cap breaches over?

Finished at the end of the 2003 Draft Season, so at the moment they have picks 1 and 3 of the National Draft and pick 1 of the Pre Season draft.

I understand Hall, Barry and Goodes. I can vaguely understand Magic, Jude and Kirk. Can even understand ROK... but come on, C-Bolt, Jolly and Nog? As much as I like all three of these players (ok, so maybe I haven't really warmed to Jolly yet)... Kosi is worth all three of them put together.

I would offer Our first picks and Doyle for Koschitzke and I think the club would be thinking the same way rather than an O'Keefe.

I don't think it's quite so clear-cut. Carlton certainly have the picks, but any player they're willing to trade is rubbish (Whitnall, Lappin, Campo etc = nothing of any interest to the Saints)... also, they'll come under a lot of pressure from their fans to keep both top picks.
