    Another negative:

Adelaide play their next 3 games at home and the last one is at Subiaco.

We've only got 1 game at the SCG and 1 at Telstra Stadium.
Vicky Pollard: Oh my god I so can't believe you just said that this is like the time I threw Anita's nokia in the canal as a joke and she's like you have well got to buy me another one and I'm like get over it and then Paul came over who's adopted anyway and started saying that I fancy Mark Bennett but oh my god just because I have sex with someone doesn't mean I fancy them.

I've seen this from Crouch, Hall and MOL, just to name a few.

I was disappointed with the second effort of the forward line, Hall and Davis in particular. What stops them from tackling when they miss a mark or it gets spoiled? As a former full back, I would be furious if my forwards ever gave up the ball so easily without trying to re-gain possession. It's already been mentioned that Hall was playing for the free kick on several occassions, he aint going to get it, so get it back the hard way. Davis just made it look like it was too hard.

I agree the forwards have to forget about the umpires because they don't pay that many frees to forwards and Sydney (15), is second last in the goals from frees count as opposed to Geelong (31). They must focus on 2nd efforts because they know that most of the time the ball won't be kicked to their advantage so they have to find ways to work harder.

I had a few concerns about a few players on Sat. I must admit I cringe whenever Matthews gets the ball as I fear what he may do with it.Willo was absolutley buggered and it looked,to me,that age catches up with him when its a fast ,hot kitchen.NOG seemed to find the pace a bit much as well but I have since heard he was having trouble with an ankle.BBB needs an appointment with his anger management person.
I revert back to the depth position again. We have Fozzy,Fixter and Maxfield to come back but it's getting close to September and match fitness may be a problem there.
It is time for Roosy and his chronies to sit down and plan for the rest of the year.I fear if they don't get organised we will be watching other teams in September. They need to have three or four plans in place and be using them at training NOW.

That's probably a bit tough Smasher. At Willo's age, the last two weeks of hard games probably took a bit more out of him than some. So when Roos is worried that much younger players may not recover in a week (as he has both this week and last) you'd have to expect him to be a bit below his best. But he was still there and trying hard.

You must have missed NOG having his ankle bandaged. He was playing most of the game on one leg. I hope he comes through this week.

Baz had to deal with trying to take a slippery ball with one hand while the other was being held and while fending off several defenders. Might make anyone a bit testy (ask Tarrant). But certainly not a good game for him and the other forwards didn't make the most of the attention being devoted to him.

And Benny was one of the few Swans to kick a goal. I was unhappy with much of his game but 10 kicks, 10 handballs, 5 tackles and a goal is a fair contribution. I doubt if anyone who may have replaced him might have done more.

I'm tired of close games. I'd really like to see us show our superiority and just run away over the Bombers. I'd settle for a win (and far from convinced it's inevitable - especially for this tired team) but a convincing one would be nice.

Hall's problem is that he's not angry enough. He should have dished out some knocks to the guy playing on him and maybe could have earned a bit of space. That one incident where an Adelaide player (Burton IIRC?) milked 50m from incidental body contact showed the bias of the umpiring rather than a lack of self control from Baz. He needs to get physical if he wants respect. Everything short of a striking charge should be in his game.

I agree! It's extremely wearing supporting a team when you know it's going to be a close even before the ball is bounced.

Love to see us come out & blow the game apart in Q1.

Yep, Bombers playing well atm & Sheeds/Hird seem highly motivated. But they'll be short a few more senior players this week which will put even more pressure on their younger players (who are good but must being feeling the effect of a long season by now).

In reality we're more likely to wear them down over the course of the game but for once it would be nice to have the game decided by 3/4 time.

That's how Port felt at half time last weekend.

                              How about 40 points at 1/4, 50 at 1/2, 70 at 3/4 and 120 for the siren?
