The shift system is a great idea! And no I don't think we're getting ahead of ourselves, because the ticketing for the GF the way it is, if you're serious about going you've got to plan ahead.

I have to work on Saturday morning, but could sacrifice a few hours of sleep for the good of the team if necessary, now that you mention it - I live in the eastern suburbs and, with a few hours sleep, could be there say 5 or 6am to mind spots/allow others to sleep for a few hours until 9.

Also happy to participate in a shift system. I have two GF pref tickets. I can queue right after the Fri game right up until the windows open on Saturday. PM if you are interested as well.

Just to be clear: instructions seem to indicate that one GF preference ticket = one queue ticket.

From the Club info:

You will need to show at least one Full Club Membership card before entering the line for a Queue Ticket. B]Each Person can obtain one Queue Ticket only.[/B] Does this mean you can't collect a queue ticket for a family member/friend even if you have their membership?

Each queue ticket entitles the holder to buy up to 8 tickets (you need a membership for each ticket still though). So you will be able to buy tickets for your family on the one queue ticket.

Thanks Mel, I get that part. But can one GF pref member get more than one queue ticket if they are holding more than one membership?

Adnar, of that 7,000 probably around 20% (depending on split between Sydney & Melbourne based members) will be allocated to be sold only in Melbounre.

So if the above calc's were correct, then only 5,600 of those tickets will be available in the Sydney que.

There will also be a further allocation of those tickets to the phone bookings that once gone are gone. How many of those only God knows?

So based on a ratio of 8 tickets per que ticket you will need to be in the vicinity of 700 or below to have a shot, but probably lower considering the phone bookings which cloud it a little.

I would say, without a doubt, that the holder of a low number queue ticket will be in a very strong bargaining position.

I sent an email to the membership department asking whether there would be two separate queues. I suggested that if they hadn't planned on having two they should consider it as those of us with GF preference would be keen to be as close to the head of the preference queue as possible. I imagine it'll get a bit crazy if guaranteeed members think preference members are getting lower queue numbers than them.
I haven't received a response yet.

Perhaps Erinn and Mel can make up a sign saying "preference" so people know which queue to join.

The query I have is will we get better tickets by queueing or simply calling when Ticketmaster opens at 8:00 am?
