IIRC it wasn't necessary for the queue tickets to be given out. I can understand why they wouldn't issue the queue tickets straight after the game this time as it is an away game and some people have an unfair advantage on others (i.e. they live closer to the ground).

I believe the thinking with the queue tickets is to prevent people queuing up overnight. As if!
It would probably be better, in the event the Swans win on Friday night (disclaimer!) for them to sell GF tickets to those members with guaranteed GF tickets on the Saturday and then release the rest to us preference members on the Sunday. So what if we have to queue overnight, it is a price a lot of us are willing to pay to secure tickets (disclaimer!).
    Bring it on!

If they didn't start dishing out queue tickets at 9am they might stop people camping out, but otherwise....as we have seen already in this thread, it's gonna happen!

      I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

Any updates on where the queue tickets are going to be on Sat.???

Interesting subnote to the Full Club Letter :

"There are more sales ports via the Ticketmaster phone than actual SCG Ticketmaster Box Offi ce available. It is
up to you as a Member to make a choice regarding which method you wish to use to purchase a ticket."

My dad and I are premiership members in melbourne. anyone else in that category?

have to line up at albert park on saturday for a queue ticket then go back on sunday to pick it up.

The only problem is that you need to queue up even if you have a queue ticket cause you dont know when they are going to get up to your number..

My main question is: Since i'm garunteed a couple of tickets for the grannie am i able to just ring up ticketmaster on sunday and purchase them, then go collect them from an outlet. will that work so I don't need to line up twice(Not that i would have trouble lining up with cheery swans supporters at lakeside)?

            Good question timbo,

Therotically you can just ring on Sunday between 9.00am & 12.00pm and then either pick-up the tickets during the week at the Ticketmaster7 in Collins Street or at the MCG.

However and it is a big however I personally feel much more comfortable just standing in line on Saturday & Sunday and getting the ticket on Sunday.

I just feel you can not trust that Ticketmaster will have enough operators to take the calls before the cut off or that if you turned up on Saturday at the "G" and your ticket will be there.

Call me paranoid, but I would play it safe and go the que option if you can.

I like and encourage this type of thinking. The more queuers the better chance I have in getting an early connection to Ticketmaster. GO the queuers!

Yes, but I am a Premiership Club member so I don't have to worry either way.

Ok, question for Premeirship Clubs, Sydneysiders and Redbacks.

Seeing we have guaranteed GF tickets are you simply going to turn up for a queue ticket at the designated time on Sat. morning or will you camp out early to still make sure of being in a relatively good queue spot?

well they said there are only around 4-5000 premiership type memberships. so that is a small quota of guaranteed tickets. I wouldnt be worried where i am in the first queue for my position in the second queue which will get me a ticket anyway.

if you understand that. I wouldnt think too many would be at lakeside oval, but you never know.

dont worry ill be in the queue on the phone, whichever comes first.

I will not camp out, but go an hour or two early.

These members have put their money where their mouth is, so I am confident that the club will make sure that the 4,000 tickets for these members will be the best available come sale time Sunday morning.

Knowing how the tickermaster7 system works, the tickets will have been segregated on the system for sale between Gauranteed & Preference and Melbourne & Sydney so it won't be a case of both lines and both states drawing from the same pool 9.00am onwards.

The non guaranteed (ie "preference") tickets dont go on sale till the afternoon after the guarantee period has ended.

What worries some about phoning is that what happens if you can't get thru during the period? You are then stuffed as your barcode cannot be used in the second group.

I remember in the past Kardinia Park turning into tent city as Geelong supporters camped out for a week!
At least all is peaceful around here this week.

Apparently this two queue system is one that the Lions have employed over the past few years, and they found it worked OK.

Although having to turn up twice is a hassle, it will be a lot quicker for staff to hand out queue tickets on Saturday, rather than sell actual tickets, meaning that once the allotted time comes around, the Saturday queue should be dealt with fairly quickly.

I'm sure the club will appreciate feedback on how it all works out this weekend (fingers crossed) in preparation for next year!!
