There are some valid points in your statement but also some incorrect ones such as what Gary said at the meeting.

In answer to your question, i believe that if you check you will find that there was only 4 18's that played regular 1st Grade. And when i say regular they played between 5-12 games in total due to rep involvement/giants games etc so they wouldnt have been playing 18's anyway. Also the coach was offered extra players from the local 16's to top up so he would have a side and refused after spitting the dummy that he wouldnt have all the GUNS.

At the end of the day it is what it is now and hopefully both clubs work together to make it a success.

Nuttsy you may have different recollections of the meeting held in June 2012 to the notes from the meeting I have been shown. I have also been shown an email from Camden to Gary, which includes Gary's reply stating Camden's acceptance of U/18's football.

Going on from this can I ask why Camden would have put in the effort they did if Gary had not provided them with these assurances?

I think most that know me know I don't make @@@@ up. Afl has @@@@@@ up seriously yet again in the sw region. Chrisis meeting in three weeks I hear. Too little way too late. All cause they want fast fixes

Is this the upside for AFL with the brave new world of GWS? Is this how to build a club from the ground up? By alienating and shafting those who are your loyal few in the area. This would never have happened to a junior clu under the Swans control.....

The ultimate irony of all of this is that as a consequence of the AFL's abject failure in junior development in Sydney South West, there are not enough juniors flowing to the only PD club in the area, Campbelltown to enable them to field an u/18 team.

The only way they can muster an u/18 side to play out of the GWS "Centre of Excellence" at Monarch, is by the AFL imposing an unwanted "marriage of convenience" that is destined to fail before it starts, between two clubs who only exist apart due to cultural difference!

And yet, I am reliably informed that in 2012, there were no less than 28 current or former Bankstown Sports Club players (aged u/16, u/17 and u/18) who played u/18 football in Sydney.

That is an amazing stat, and I stand to be corrected, but on that basis, Bankstown would have to be the only stand alone junior AFL club that could have fielded their own u/18 side in 2012, with no reliance on the AFL or any other club ... and still there were in 2012, and will be in 2013, senior clubs who will turn up for u/18 games with 14 players, half of them skinny u/16's, to cop another 20 goal flogging, until they just forfeit again.

But, the AFL is happy to see Bankstown fold if they don't do as they are told.

No one is bagging anyone what people are having a say about is in the south west there is one PD club that does no work in the area that no one wants to be playing for has a toxic culture but they expect that the clubs that are in close proximity that have a willing volunteer base have their planning well advanced no problems recruiting should just roll over and feed the PD club. Sydney Footy should just let them wither in the problems that they have brought on themselves or sit down with all the clubs in the area and come up with a solution that strenghtens footy in the south west. By all the clubs I mean all those within 25 ks of Monarch. Look at the 3 clubs closest to it Camden Moorebank and Parra all 3 have grown and have started or in the process of starting long term plans to ensure their future. In the last 20 years Ctown has been up down to releiant on too few, way to short term no communication with any club or juniors that has any benefit for growth of the game as a whole. I have no doubt that there is some good folk at Ctown but the history of past endeavours inspire no faith in the future

After speaking to the kookas it sounds like training has been well attended for this time of the pre season with a couple of warriors returning from the SANFL, and a few impressive new comers.
I believe with 53 guys over the 2 training runs and with 40 odd to each session it sounds like things are positive out at Marsfeild.

From all reports an attitude adjustment from last years playing group is well overdue, fingers crossed the revitalization continues.

25??????????? From what i heard there were only about 5-10 Kids or parents there as it was about 48 Degrees. But hey never let the truth get in the way of a good rumour

Depends on which rumour you were talking about. Yours or DLH's. Notice on the Cats social media page that they claimed to have 25 kids and good parental support, whilst Town had a "smattering".

Beats me why they didn't let Camden go it alone, they had the numbers and the passion whilst the basket cases, as usual, had bugger all.

Back in late 2010, a senior Western Sydney AFL official approached Penrith about "talking" to Campbelltown about supplying them with with better players and 18's in a "mutual" type agreement to give our better players a chance to play at a higher level and it would be very beneficial to us.
We said that we thought that if Town were struggling, they should approach us.

The reply was a shake of the head and a weird look.
