Do you see my name on any of the forums? I am not a moderator on this site anymore. Besides, if you think the word 'rubbish' is too harsh for a moderator to use, then perhaps you shouldn't be posting here in any case.

You are one poster in particular who is quite happy to dish it out to whomever you wish, but is very quick to complain when you are offended by something. I'll keep it simple: grow up.

With Vogels, Richards, Malceski, Chambers, Doyle and Moore all in strong contention.

Dempster would be ahead of most of them, but he's no certainty.
I don't see any of them challenging for Dempster's spot. He played the last 15 games of last year and I think he is gradually improving, so I can't imagine that there is much chance he won't be picked.

'Rubbish' isn't quite as rude as 'racist'...

At least Charlie adds a rationale for his comment rather than just a cheap unsubstantiated snipe...

He's not necessarily in our best six backmen. Barry, LRT, Kennelly and Bolton are all clearly ahead of Dempster. Crouch will be selected back there, and then it comes down to Mathews or Dempster. I suspect our opinions will differ to Roos' on that score.

Nevertheless, he will probably play... he's just not a certainty.

I'm happy with that considering the amount of youngsters playing, some of whom performed quite well.

I thought as one of our few senior players out there he didn't really give us very much.

Buchanan - just out for the run but looks set for another very good year.
Yep, a few early season errors, but looked very creative and useful.

              Brabazon - looks good.
              Yep.
Chambers - I thought he found his feet a bit in the 2nd half but is behind Doyle.
I didn't think he looked as bad as everyone said, but not great.

garruba - did a few good things late, could be a chance down the track.
Okay, but I don't think he'll get a game this year.

Grundy - didn't work hard enough on 2nd efforts.
              Possibly right there.

Vogels - I disagree with others, I thought he was slow to react and didnt read the play coming towards him. Not a backman for mine.
I thought he was pretty reasonable on Thompson.
Doyle - his 2nd half was very good for a bloke who has played little footy. Those who have labelled him donkey will eat their words if he stays injury free. Got lots of taps and picked the pace and dropped back well into the square.
Just so so in my view, but we'll see after he gets a few games as he is still coming back.

My point with Garruba NMW is that he is still a rookie, so is a distant prospect barring injuries.

Apparently was skinny last year but seems to have a bit of bulk now and was prepared to do a bit of hard work. Grant took a mark that should have been a free to Garruba for an obvious hold.

By the way 4 umpires, 2 in both halves and both were in the wrong position to see a clear chest mark by one of our juniors.

There were a few glaring mistakes, those two and then there was the out on the full of a Kangaroo boot...As Taylor kept saying, "there are 10 umpires out there, you would think that one of them would see it.(my paraphrase)"

Seriously, was that the WORST game of football you have ever seen played?

The first half seemed to have no tactics or anything. Ok, I was not fussed about whether we won or anything, but anyone watching that on live TV around the country would have switched off by the 3rd quarter.

I have been a Moore fan for quite some time. I hope he gets a senior spot this year for sure.

The frizzies are hard to pick apart. I like the look of Bramazon I think his name is. Grundy proved useful up forward. Whilst Jack looked skillful even if he doesn't appear to have a very penetrating kick. Needs time in the weight room. Give him 3-4 years to truly mature as a footballer I think.

Am very glad I didn't waste time going down to Canberra for that. Pre-season footy is just not worth it any more. We actually willingly turned over the TV to the Richmond match in the last quarter, it was that excruciating.

No. You seem to have forgotten many of the Swans v St Kilda games over the years, they are always lousy to watch, with the exception of the 2005 PF of course.
