the players clean their own clothes now?? cos they are too scared to get dirty they have port players streaming all around them. Too many attempts at flashy crap that doesnt work, playing like they just dont care. I dont accept the slow start rubbish we have to win games like this.

They seem to be lacking direction out there. Confidence and belief in their ability looks shot.
Basics like creating the loose man, talk, kicking to advantage are being totally butchered.

We are not playing very well at all but I must say the umpiring is once again so one-sided. Seems to be different rules for the Swans - must frustrate the players. That bloody umpire with the hat!!!

I think the chances of us winning this are exceptionally remote. At best we'll go down by 3-4 goals.

It appears to me that the change in rules that has affected us the most is the stupid crap about being first to the ball and being pinged.

Obviously, our game plan last year had a lot to do with slowing the game down when the opposition was having their way. This was most often done by forcing multiple ball ups. The way it currently stands, if you take the ball you will get pinged. Unfortunately, to make matters worse, that does appear to apply more to Sydney than other teams. The only times a decent amount of intensity has been seen by Sydney players going for a ball they have been pinged for it.

On top of our apparent lack of strategy to mitigate this problem and the fact that we are pretty much playing like crap. Once, again the lack of consistent umpiring is getting painful to watch. I don't care if neither of them read the ball well and it went over their heads; if Richards was to leap in the air and place his hip in the back of Lade's head there would be a free. It is very frustrating that Hall can't win a free like that.

There have been a number of stupid frees payed. This is not an excuse for the swans, it is a lamentation that the umpires are now starting to display the same impact on play in AFL as they have always had in Rugby. Things had better change or I'm not going to bother anymore...
