Good enough for me. I jumped in '95, maybe go to about 6 games a year, watch all the others on the idiot box. I have thought about leaving early a at times but my better half wouldn't let me. I can't afford a membership, but then I buy any newspaper with a Swannies article in it, I can't get enough of them.

I struggle with this , especially when posting. Sometimes I feel part of the Swans family other times I feel part of the audience. I think when talking with obviously more committed fans I feel I shouldn't use "us/we", but amongst others I feel some sort of ownership/belonging.

all of the above - its different things to different people - but as long as you are there for the long haul when times are brilliant or are buggered and your support doesn't waiver then you can be considered a true believer. We cant all get to all games - but most of us endeavour to.

Also having a wine stained (does that make me elitist?), craggy swans scarf, not to be washed incase it falls to pieces, is a must in any true believers collection.

By always admiting who you support regardless of how they are fairing or what the popular opinion of you team is(im a Carlton supporter).

Always watching until the end (be it on TV or live at the game). Even when your ten goals down at the start of the last quarter and logic tells you youre gone but you keep urging them on anyway.

Looking for positives not the negatives in the losses. Acknowlege the negative by all means but focus on the positives.

Mine doesn't have wine stains, but does have old unidentified stains. Too scared to wash it for the same reasons as you Wardy. I wore my Premiership scarf on the weekend rather than my lucky scarf. Time to retire the Premiership scarf already methinks!

No one left from around where I was, although I should add that we were sitting with about 3 bays of Vic based members, so we/they couldn't really go home at 3/4 time .

I have only been a supporter/fan of the Sydney Football Club since 2002 and as yet haven't seen any of the truely 'bad' times (although 2002 was definately not much fun ) but once I'm on a 'bandwagon' I'm on for life - I'll support them through thick and thin - even if it is as aggrevating and tedious as round 2 this year.
A true fan/supporter I also believe is someone that geniunely loves the game for the game - not just the club. Whilst we here all support the Sydney Swans I love watching the other games each round as well - watching the true champions exploit the game at it's best!

Hey JF.I could not go to the game on Sunday due to other commitments being on but I have never been so ashamed to be a Swans supporter as I am right now.

They are playing with no heart and this is not like them

Of course I will continue to keep supporting them but I could not hardly blame any of the Swans supporters if they left the game early

The Swans need to take a good hard look at themselves and play as a team

They are not doing that at the moment and if they continue to not play as a team then they are going to continue to get beaten

Hey, people on the next table to me at the SARC actually left at quarter time of the Essendon game, muttering "Well, we can go & watch the game at home".

These people are pretty funny to be honest.
