ROK is all for it mate, however, he started a thread on this topic yesterday and the moderators of this site deemed it to be too inflamatory to our CS, so they closed it down....twice!!

    BEWARE THE MODS ARE WATCHING!

As long as it doesn't bother our wine, cheese and discussion of property development ROK and I are happy.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Should look into changing the words of a well known song ... I remember when I was a kid I learnt a version of "waltzing matilda" that went like this:

"Waltzing Matilda, boo for St Kilda
Up with Fitzroy and down with Geelong"

It went on but thats all I remember. The songs will only be effective if they are repetitive and use familiar tunes.

Agreed. How about this for our Irish wonder kid - and let's face it - he could do with some cheering up and a good welcome back!

It's a long way for Tadhg Kennelly,
It's a long way to go,
It's a long way for Tadhg Kenelly,
To the sweetest side he knows,
            Goodbye County Kerry,
            G'day Sydney SWANS!
It's a long long way for Tadhg Kennelly,
            But his hearts right here!

The problems arose in the CS yesterday when some of the leading chanters & singers were either away or had invited friends so hence had to sit away from the squad.

Each week we have people given red Swans hat and sat next to us. I have heard that they are "international guests". More often than not they sit there complete stunned or grab their cameras & take pictures of what they see.

Aparft from filling up the next bay with red hats, there appears to be little purpose & more succinctly little long term gain in having these people there, apart from maybe merchandise sales.

What I strongly reckon we should have is a Swans unreserved drinkers bay in Bay 21. Not only does it strengthen the value of the existing Unreserved Membership & season ticket (ie being so close to the field of play), but it is easily acheived logistically & may help in getting more people sitting their kids in the CS whilst having a sip and barrack in the very next bay.

But you can only argue your point for so long. Whether anyone will listen or is actually interested enough to really listen is another thing entirely.

JF getting things changed, is like banging your head against the wall.
Personally speaking I can not see the problem of not having a season ticket, but just a CS membership.

Well, the Undertaker is in that boat at the moment. I can't see the CS President ever complaining about taking an extra $20 from you, or anyone else in particular.

Leave the Irish alone. The collective IQ of the Randwick end rises 75 points when they're there, with or without their cameras.

im apart of the melbourne based sydney swans cheersquad & let me tell you its fantastic, ive met soo many new people & its great getting all the chants started up with everyone but most of all its great for the club to have as much support as possible.

In my opinion i think the melbourne based cheersquad is the best cheersquad ive seen. Majority of people get involued in the chants & have heaps of fun. Ive been to a few games up in sydney & sat with the cheersquad, they give it their best. JF is fantastic with his drum, i once remember when i went to the geelong final last year, i thought we were dead & buried when geelong kicked the 1st goal of the final term but JF stood up & got the drum going, he never gave in, he showed spirit & support for our mighty swannies & we all know they got up & won in the end thanks to nicky davis

If theres anyone out there who wants to join the cheersquad then do so cause it would be greatly appreciated.

I have to say I have found the crowd this year to be little quieter than last year. We have a Barry song and Magic song as well but this year have been met with silence mostly. But that's cool, we never take it personally . Think maybe people take a few games to get revved up. Our bay got pretty fired up in the last Q, but should really have started earlier. Jeez I love it when things get hairy. Couple of contentious decisions, maggot bshing etc etc.

                            *sigh*

Night or day, they're out to make us proud
To keep our big flags wavin' in the crowd
If they kick behind the post
                              Then we'll clap the most
And keep on singin' ditties just as loud

Come on Swannies, come on, come on
                              Come on Swannies, come on
Come on Swannies, come on, come on
                              Come on Swannies, come on

See 'em chippin' leather at the back
And the ruckman feeding the others with the tap
                              They're not winning games
But we know all their names
And still believe they might go back to back

Come on Swannie, come on, come on
                              Come on Swannie, come on

Leo's running up and down and round
Goodesy's just wanderin' 'round the ground
                              Lewy's looking for his man
He wants Paul to hold his hand
And Buchy's thinking "what's that running sound?"

Noggy wishes he could play like cousin Gaz
Willo's planning his retirement back to Tas
Davo leads but no one sees
                              He's pleading on his knees
But the midfield keep on kickin' it to Baz

                              Micky's never injured, always hurt
Brett's still enjoyin' sayin' "Captain Kirk"
                              Schneider's hair is something shocking
                              Now this cheersquad's really rocking
Is that Doyley out there injured in the dirt?

Come on Swannies, come on, come on

The coach says we are working class
And some say our flag win was nothing but a farce
But it's the spirit of the Bloods
That scraps and fights and floods
We've won a flag so Melbourne kiss our arse!

                              Come on Swannies etc

And still believe they might go back to back

Come on Swannie, come on, come on
                                Come on Swannie, come on

Leo's running up and down and round
                                Goodesy wandering around the ground
                                Lewy's looking for his man
He wants Paul to hold his hand
And Buchy's thinking "what's that running sound?"

                                Micky's never injured, always hurt
Brett's still enjoyin' sayin' "Captain Kirk"
                                Schneider's hair is something shocking
                                Now this cheersquad's really rocking
Is that Doyley out there injured in the dirt?

Come on Swannies, come on, come on
                                Come on Swannies, come on
Come on Swannies, come on, come on
                                Come on Swannies, come on

The coach says we are working class
And some say our flag win was nothing but a farce
But it's the spirit of the Bloods
That scraps and fights and floods
We've won a flag so Melbourne kiss our arse!

                                Come on Swannies etc
                                Brilliant... copyright it!!
