Hence my often grouchy replies when needled over this issue. Because I'm genuinely frustrated at having to chant at empty seats every week.

I have given up banging my head again a wall any more. It is just not worth it any more. It is all too hard. We have won a Premiership and my passion level has dropped a fair bit as well, it must be said as well.

I'm always having to help out as to suggestions as to how to make the Cheer Squad (and indeed the general support for the team) not only louder but more constant.

The last quarter last weekend was more like it as far as chanting and overall support is concerned. People got into it at long last. Let's build things from here!

We in the O'Reilly started singing a song after each Barry Hall goal last year. On the weekend we noticed that more people seem to be joining in this year- both in the stand and the concourse areas.

After each Baz goal we wait for a few seconds till the applause dies down, stand and let it rip. We're toward the big screen end of the O'Reilly if you want to watch for our cue.

Tis pretty simple so easy for people to join in. Sing and clap 'barry hall' to the tune of 'here we go, here we go, here we go'.

I actually made up and printed off a big bundle of flyers last year which we handed around to the folk nearby. That got us off to a good start. If anyone's interested I can try and locate it and post it here should anyone want to make some for your own area.

Was it you guys who used to do it "Hallelujah Bazza kicked a goal" as well? I know some group did it previously and thought that that should still be sung, except it should be "Hallelujah, Bazza got a free".

        I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

No, we can't take credit for that one.

I like the "Go Barry Go" song the same as "No Garry No" quitting smoking ad.....very very funny! Heard it first on Sunday.

Also thought the last quarter was much more vocal and loud. We should try and get some of these chants down on paper till everyone learns them. Isnt there a new cheersquad newsletter going around. We should submit them to that till everyone learns the words.... have a new one submitted each week as well. Keep the faith JF you do a great job.

Yeah, fair comment. Maybe one of those people who throws a red herring into a convrsation then takes off?

I think your idea is good JF, but obviously the club has some responsibility for the behaviour of the official CS and the addition of alcohol always adds that elemant of uncertainty.
Not really. It would just be like every other bay in the ground, just reserved for Swans supporters who want rock up, sit with their mates have a sip of a cleansing ale and barrack for the team.

All I can say is to at least give things a try.

                              Nice one ROK.

I would be so bold though, to make the assumption that as you live in Canberra, there is a rough outside chance you are a public servant with a lot of time on your hands.

Liked the bit on Dempsters photos. I wonder whether he has been taking lessons off Cousins or more so Gardiner. One does wonder why he has dropped out of favour so rapidly.

Definitely not a one hit wonder. I've been keeping an eye on the chat and have been talking with JF in between. I was just sitting back and seeing what everyone else was saying.

We're gonna hopefully meet up and bang out some ideas to get things going. So keep them coming.

Loving all the ideas we've had so far.

Let's make sure we're the loudest at Telstra tomorrow night!!

(Does anyone know if they've definitely settled on Homebush - or is it being held at SCG?)
