But he has done that with Warner and I suspect this is to stay within the 75 rotations a game. Rowbottom is a keeper. WE need his hardness and competitive game at the coal face. He is still better than Sheldrick who's disposal lets him down too often.
I would have loved to see him be allowed to chase his own ball at the coalface but it doesn't look like it's going to happen, Has George Hewett vibes.

Sheldrick did get better but Rowy is king of the dump kick at Sydney, maybe that is frame of mind as he is defending first and not after the ball

He is surplus if he isnt in the middle.

His kicking is better than Sheldrick and he is our toughest player. No way he goes.

Happy if he stays in a role that suits him, no point plonking him somewhere in the 22 just because he is good enough.

He can be effective both as a mid and a forward. Did well up forward in at least three or four of our wins later in the year, including Brisbane. I was at the game v Saints at Marvel and his desperation and pressure up forward, and in the midfield, especially in the last quarter, were instrumental in our win. Sheldrick was good that day as well.

Rowy is needed in midfield- it’s simple as that. Yes, Gus needs games but he’s still a way to go. Are we ever going to see Mills on the ball? He’s been needed down back as we’ve been a bit porous there but surely he is more value at the coalface?

Rowy needs to be a clearance king that gets it consistently 20-25 possessions in the middle, a Josh Kennedy type.

We dont need him fwd, we have Heeney, Warner that push fwd and Wilbur, Paps, Datolli, then Hannily, Cleary, Corey and god forbid someone we draft next year.

He is surplus, if he is wasted out of the middle
