Trying to look objectively how a Curnow deal might get done. One of Armatey, Logan & Maclean may have to be on the trade table as we'll have surplus of tall forwards along with Buller.

Maclean might be the most interest to Carlton who can also fill the void 2nd ruck role to Pitnott. now that TDK is off to Saints. Not sure if our first pick + Maclean will be suffice.

Or perhaps one of Armatey, Logan or Maclean to the Dees (who are desperate for a KPF) for a early 2nd round pick and bundled with our first rounder. Hayward might also come into calculations, considering Carlton were heavily into him last year before he re-commiitted.

However, i'm.still of the view a KPD is our top priority like a Lever or Leek Allir, which won't cost us as much in trade & cap space in comparison to Curnow and plus having more impact.

I think Curnow is committed to Carlton so let’s respect that and forget him- besides, I wouldn’t want to trade any of our talls! We need a KPD, that’s pretty obvious, and our recruiters and management have to focus on that above all else. Improving the team’s skill levels will move us back into finals next year but we need to find another Paddy!

If we don’t, then move Logan down back and hope he stays fit for most of the year. Amartey at FF, Buller/ Ladhams in the pocket and McLean CHF would be my setup, with Wilbur, Paps and Isaac up forward most of the time. The Lizard on a wing, Juzzy on the other, Campbell, Errol, Rowy and JJ midfield and Chad centre. Ramps and Harry are good for 1 more year but Lloydy is cooked. Hopefully Corey, Cleary and Roberts move up a notch and Corey’s game against the Weagles was very encouraging. Hopefully a few from the ressies improve enough to play a few games as needed, so I’m ok with the players we have- they just need to stay fit and work on their skills during preseason!

I think one of Ladhams, Mclean or Amartey will have to go to bring in a defender.

Accept that Buller is older but look at the difference in him after given a few games, I wonder if some of our young KPD would come on if given the opportunity.

Nice - Let’s delist the one bloke who showed up for both grand final thrashings. Always loved fox but felt like he was constantly shafted by the Swans with contracts and games but still gave his all. Thought he was a seriously underrated superstar in defence. Sad to see one of my faves go.

As you said, Fox is probably one of the few who could hold his head high in both grand finals. Did a number on Cameron in dire circumstances in ‘22. A great solider for the club and a pretty good footballer. Thanks for everything.

No offence to the other three as I admire anyone that puts on the red and white, but no surprise either.

Sad for Robbie but this years injuries and his age weren't in his favour. North will probably give him a call.

PPS: I don't want or think we need Curnow either. Swans, forget him and concentrate on a decent tall KPD.

Shame about Fox. He was a very underrated footballer but injuries and age have conspired against him.
The others, not too surprising there. Given that only two were from the primary list I suspect there might be a couple more delistings to be announced.

Trading and list management is all about who is available or might be tempted to swap clubs, and for us it's about who would be willing to move home (and family) to Sydney. We are at a significant disadvantage when it comes to attracting players.

The delistings are no surprise and could be another round of them after Trade Week.

On AFL website - Curnow has told Carlton he's open to being traded elsewhere IF a trade can be arranged. Carlton have said he won't be traded (you have to continue to suffer here in mid table mediocrity with the rest of us Charlie LOL)

Clearly the calf muscles were an ongoing issue for Robbie and both the club and he would have realised his time was up at the senior level. Has been a solid contributor in defence over the journey

I feel exactly the same. His desperate defence and smother vs the Dees in 2022 QF says it all. I also remember him taking a screamer and kicking the match winner in a boilover down at the Cattery a few years before that. His great gift was his versatility but I think that was also perhaps a bit of a curse - he was frequently Mr Fixit rather than being given a position to own.
Very sad to see him go.

Why not come out and announce a retirement. Surely he isnt getting another contract elsewhere ?

He has been hanging by a knife edge contractually more than anyone to realise maybe his time is up, why not announce is properly and celebrate it.

Speaking or poorly announce sh8t, why would we get involved in a Doco about Mills not being selected, when he did what was asked of him trying to play in a GF where we got pumped. Whats the benefit of airing that ?

Curnow is 29 next year and signed until the end of 2029 and a hefty salary. I can't see the sense in giving up Amartey and/or McDonald, 2 up and coming key forwards, and even draft picks. Does anyone remember Nankervis and Cameron? Curnow hasn't played since Round 20 to boot.

Jeremy Cameron played his first 9 seasons at GWS: 427 goals in 171 games, 2.5 a game.

Charlie Curnow has played his first 9 seasons at Carlton: 313 goals in 149 games at 2.1 a game.

Since being traded to Geelong, Cameron has kicked 300 in 105 games at 2.86 goals a game of 5 seasons.

Geelong traded a first and two future firsts (13 15, 20) for Cameron (got two future seconds back). Worth it? (Without a doubt!).
