As for Paton, I thought he was a strange recruit and he is a crap kick. So if he leaves at the end of the year, all good.👍 1Comment

My point wasn't to get hung up on Rosas; it was to explore the opportunity to raid other clubs by finding young talent not getting a game and to help with our small forward brigade, which is fundamentally still weak.

We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his timeComment

AFL website - The possibility of major changes to the Swans list is also on the agenda and Cox admitted several of his charges are playing for their futures over the next month.
So it looks like we're going to be active in trade period, whether we can land anyone is a moot point. A list clean out of fringe players not holding 2026 contracts now looks a certainty
Who is playing for their future over the next month?Comment

I think this is fine recruiting logic- particularly when looking at a specialist position like a small forward. Strong, young lists that are developing can have a habit of playing young mids as small forwards to get games into them (every club does this I'm sure, but I feel like it's heightened at a club like Gold Coast or GWS in days of yore).
Don't think we are in need of a 170cm midfielder eitherComment

The AFL website has this article on Cox's non-committal remarks on Rampe's playing future: Veteran's future unclear as Swans plan for 2026 and beyond. It doesn't add much after reading Cox's remarks in the previous link."Unbelievable!" -- Nick Davis leaves his mark on the 2005 semi finalComment

Key Quotes: Dean Cox, Round 21 (sydneyswans.com.au) - includes Cox's views on "playing for futures" and Dane Rampe.

Looking at Tilthorpe, same draft as Logan, hasn't done as much as Logan. Both been injured heaps
His first year kicking goals, ironically like almost every other good team in the comp, alongside 2 other talls, with 2 good smalls, similar to usif healthy and selected.
That is why we don't need a KPF but a KPDComment

Not so sure about that, he has been playing on the backline in the AFL team for the last 3 weeks and has played very wellComment
