He is ahead of Lloyd every day of the week, contracted and younger as well.

Wasn't long ago he was almost the barometer for us.

Needs to be playing mid fwd, like Lloyd is, getting out of the backline

listen to a Tom Harley interview this morning and they took the loss to the Giants very badly. However he did mention that he expects the Swans will be more active in the trade period .THE name of JUH was brought up in the conversation.

I hope they took that loss hard as the last half was pathetic

Swans have put new contracts to Lloyd and Ladhams, not sure of the lloyd seasons but the latter for two years.

If as expected the AFL finally ditch the stupid sub and make it a five man bench, a lot of teams, including us I expect will play two rucks which removes the need to play a KPF/relief ruck. I've grown to like Ladhams, think he has a bit to offer.

Lloyd just next season: Tigers in hunt for Sun, Pie's offer, Swans look to lock in duo - https://www.afl.com.au/news/1376728.

I've also grown to like Ladhams, who also looks to be a popular clubman. Hopefully, both contract offers are taken up.

Ladhams is too good to be a non regular backup
Hope he stays but surely there is a team out there that wants him more than us.

If your playing in a team less than Francis and Hamling id say you would be trying your hardest to go somewhere your wanted

If you’re a ruckman, there’s nowhere else to play except in the ruck. Francis and Hamling have theoretically more versatility.

He's a different player than Francis and Hamling: these players play forward or back, whereas Ladhams plays ruck with some spells in the forward line.

Ladhams' VFL stats (scores and disposals):
Round 13 v Southport: no score, 18 disposals.
                  Round 14 v Bulldogs: 2 goals 1, 24 disposals.
Round 15 v Bullants: no score, 29 disposals.
                  Round 16 v Sandringham: 2 goals, 15 disposals.
                  Round 18 v Giants: 2 goals 1, 17 disposals.

Ladham's senior stats aren't as impressive, with 5 goals in 8 games this year. With a couple of goals a game in the VFL I think he does more than just play in the ruck. He can rest in the forward line and be able to contribute a goal or two a game.

Overall, Francis and Hamling are more versatile because they play forward or back, whereas Ladhams plays ruck or forward. Right now, with McDonald, Amartey and McLean all injured, Ladhams looks like the next best option for the forward line, freeing up the others to play in defence if fit.

I'm anticipating the club will also offer Buller a contract extension? I think he also deserves a 2 year extension. Wouldn't surprise me if WC might be sniffing him out, given Oscar Allen is heavily rumoured to be at Brisbane next year.

In a way what interested me most in that article was that we are tracking Rosas Jr, who I like as a player. I think a) more depth in the small forward department is important and b) we should be eyeing off fringe players at clubs like the GC.

                        Small Fwds ?
Dattoli, Warner, Hannily, Cleary will all be on our list next year

Rosa's is like a Ben Paton pickup

                          Agree here

Hamling and Francis are shorter than Ladhams, end of story.

Hamling is a good shutdown defender, neither are good ball in hand or in the fwd line, that isnt versatility.

Play 2 rucks and play at least 2 tall fwds.

Last week, GWS had Stringer, Cadman, Hogan Riccardi, Riccardi Rucked a little.
All need a defender, no one was running off to intercept against that lineup, not to mention Greene, Bedford, Jones

We like to play, Buller still very raw, Mclean cooked from Rucking and Heeney and Wilbur taking on 3 defender each that are available to help out as we have no bloody tall targets

Agree with you on Francis, but Hamling has been playing very well in defence and was definitely on top of Hogan last week until he injured his hamstring. He is certainly not a forward but his defensive skills are very good.
Losing both McLean and Hamling in the first half may have been part of the reason for the capitulation in the third quarter which may have unbalanced the team

So, Dattoli we think will make it, but he's not done anything yet. Corey Warner is not really a small forward. Hannily is a marginal prospect. And Cleary will be a midfielder.

Right now, the only best 22 small forward we have is Papley.

But regardless, I do think we should be scouting clubs with strong lists like the Gold Coast for players who can be enticed out. Rosas is unlikely to be the only one.
