Hopefully they have put 2 and 2 together and seen us get demolished on 2 GF days by teams with big midfields.
Jack Steele on the outer, he would be a good get at the right price, lived in Sydney beforeComment

He looked heap better on the weekend and it could be interesting selection next year if Amartey, Logan, Mclean are all available.
If we hold Ladhams, Buller and with Green coming thru, we will be forced to change the way we play fwd. I think Ladhams will get lowballed if they believe Green will be ready
Buller could really come on next year, so could a few others if we play a 3 headed monster up fwd.👍 1Comment

Jack Steele? He's 30 next year. That is a retrograde step. We don't need another Adams. If Steele is struggling at the Saints why would we want to pick up another from the over the hill mob.Comment

30 isnt over the hill, 32 is
Steele has done more than Adams ever did.
Can still play mids and has a good disposal
Same age as Heeney and PapsComment

This is the sort of bargain hunting we should be trying for. Where the risk is relatively low of them being a complete dud, but with big upside. Young and can play - would be a good addition to the list, and probably not at enormous cost either."You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."👍 1Comment

After getting a jump on all the other draftees as an Academy Selection he has played 34 games in 5 yrs in a team that hasn't played finals.
He has played over 50 VFL games so dont think he has been injured
Also, Josh Kennedy wasn't getting a game in a Premiership Hawthorn sideLast edited by UUaswan; 5 August 2025, 10:21 PM.Comment

I actually think midfield is the least of our concerns, don't see the value in picking up a fringe mid from elsewhere, we have Heeney, Warner, Rowy, Sheldrick, Errol who rotates through there, JJ, Juzzy. Plus arguably our best mid in Mills who is playing in the backline, then the young guys like Cleary and Dattoli who could certainly develop into great mids. I am also an advocate of trying Blakey in the midfield so I don't think we need to improve that area of the ground. Key Forward and Key Back are our two clear areas for improvement, plus small forward possibly. We really only have McCartin and Melican as AFL standard key backs and both have an extensive injury history. When it comes to KF's we have options but no standout matchwinner. Amartey I think has the most talent and ability but has had a lot of injury issues, Logan the jury is out on still as to how good he really is and McLean is serviceable at best. Buller has shown promise but is unlikely to be the solution.Comment
