Other than JUH & Curnow, we appear to be quiet so far in the trade front according to the AFL media. Hoping we're being stealthy in this space.
The following trade article suggesting whether we might be interested in KPDs Steven May, Liam Jones, Sam Frost or 22yo Jai Serong who remains unsigned at the Hawks.
Read elsewhere where Jake Lever has been linked to North, WC and Bulldogs. Surely we should also have him on our radar if he's gettable?

Apparently we're interested in Malcolm Rosas from the Suns. I'd not heard of him before - played 45 odd games over 5 years as a speedy mid sized forward. Not sure why we'd be interested.Other than JUH & Curnow, we appear to be quiet so far in the trade front according to the AFL media. Hoping we're being stealthy in this space.

Suprised/disappointed we havent been linked to Leek Alleer.Comment

Jake Lever could be ok. He will be 30 in March though. Hawks got Battle, 25. Maybe we should be looking at Wilkie or Tauru. I can remember seeing Wilke's father playing in the 1985-6 GF's against Glenelg. He played on Stephen Kernahan in '85 and John Seabohm or Adam Garton in '86. In '85 he made the mistake of bashing Kernahan with a roundhouse right in a marking contest. Nearly knocked him out. Problem for Wilkie was he didn't. Kernagan came back on and when the time was right did exactly the same thing to Wilkie. This time Wilkie was knocked out. Hard Bugger. He player\d in North's '87 Premiership against Glenelg, who lost at least 10 players to the AFL at the end of '86, so making the finals was a huge achievement for Graeme Cornes.Other than JUH & Curnow, we appear to be quiet so far in the trade front according to the AFL media. If we want backs let's target some younger blokes who will be arounfd to help win a premeirship. I am not sure next year is even close to being a Premiership year.
But I want mids and a medium, 191-2cm Medium Forward. Think Morris for Lions. We have several Academy prospects who are ready to go.
Max King, a Medium forward/Mid, 191cm, is someone we should be looking at very seriously.
Lachie Carmichael is a REAL defender who we do not have to convert from being a mid. He does play mids when needed. He was the Australian Championships MVP.
Harry Kyle and Noah Chamberlain may be later options. Chamberlain is a HB/Mid and kyle plays wing.
do we really want to trade in a Curnow, who is lazy, he's a sook, does not play a team game, and refuses to run defensively. Yes he gets pushed back to take marks in defence. but that is not running defensively.

Rosas can do the undoable. Think Rankin. He could be a really great player if managed correctly. I think he has a personality problem with Hardwick. Rosas played 15 games and kicked 15.14 for the season. Playing HF he is racking up some stats though, in a fairly poor side. Not as poor as ours lol.Comment

Wouldn't cost much - worth a punt imho. Or perhaps there is a smidgeon of truth to rumours that we could be open to trading Papley for the right offer.

Who on earth put up Papley's name? He didn't finish up the season like a player who we would remotely look to trade. He's a heart and soul club player.Comment

Paps isnt going anywhere but I think he said more than he had to when interviewed.
So much for playing a straight bat because the player in question is under contract for 4 yrs.
May as well open the door for anyone on our list.

According to the AFL website, Robbie Fox wants to play on.
I had assumed, based on nothing but age and injury, that he had retired.
Hopefully he gets a new home.Comment

Its been suggested we trade first round draft pick and Florent + McLean for Curnow. What do people think of that trade?Comment

Deal
Have to move out a fwd to bring in Curnow, id prefer to keep Logan and Amartey.
Would like to keep Ollie id offer up Hannily but may not be enoughComment

Interested to see what calls we make with some others
Cats are playing this week without 2022 Premiership Players Jake Kola, Duncan, Guthrie and maybe Bews. All available but others have gone past them.
That's where we need to be.

St Kilda All-Australian targeted by Victorian club: AFL trade news - AFL News - Zero Hanger
This is who I'd love us to be going after (as I talked about a week or two ago).
Otherwise, there are suggestions that Tylar Young from Richmond might be gettable. He's a pretty decent key back too, though not at Wilkie's level.
I keep reading how all these (mostly Melbourne) clubs are after attractive assets and our name is never mentioned as being in the hunt. I'd like to think that is because we do things behind closed doors, but I'm not confident of that.Comment

The script is we only chase key fwds, even though most of us believe it's not our need.St Kilda All-Australian targeted by Victorian club: AFL trade news - AFL News - Zero Hanger

Hard to know what our coaches think of our defenders, last pre season they thought we had enough down there to move Tom Mc out of there, not sure what they are seeing that the rest of the us aren't.Comment
