Rounding up a few things from earlier posts

I think we all know we're often not in the hunt because Vic players want to stay in Vic.

Media throws up 200 trade scenarios every year 10% happen, then some trades never mentioned happen - AFL media is just a rumour machine

When discussing trade scenarios people need to understand that players like Ladhams and Hanily have zero value in a trade. Future seconds and thirds also little value

Harry does a superb job minding opposition small/medium forwards, one of the first magnets put on the board each selection meeting. He doesn't stand out on game day but rarely does his dangerous opponent

Just under five weeks to trade period, 12 weeks to the ND, hold tight

I think it’d be great, but it’d never get done as Carlton would be too busy falling about in stitches to get it over the line.

McLean: clunks marks, kicks a classic straight drop punt, contests well, is not injury-prone. Sounds like the tall you'd want to keep, to me anyway.

Yes, i've also been curious why Buller hasn't been re-signed yet. I assume we have put an extension offer in front of him? I'm thinking Buller might be perusing potential offers elsewhere (WC) as he awaits outcome of the Curnow situation, which will severely limit his senior opportunities with us if it falls through.

This is where I hope we stand firm and walk away if it's not enough.

I for one wont be too disappointed to see KB move on

Only we would give up Parker and a former 1st round pick Konstanty for a 3rd roundwhile the same team North gives up a 2nd rounder for Caleb Daniel

23yr old Tom Mitchell averaging 30 possessions for Pick 14

The best thing KB did is trade a broken Hannabery

From a Swans perspective it looks attractive, as Maclean & Florent although in our best 22 are looked upon as replaceable.
But no way this will fulfill Carlton, who are looking for overs in a an elite player in exchange. They will want quality over quantity.

I've heard a 3 way deal is required to get this done. E.G. We offload our 2025 & 2026 first rounders to Port, who then offload Butters to Carlton and then Curnow to us. Of course alot has to happen with this, just a hypothetical.

i can understand Curnow will receive better supply from our mids, but so can our current crop of KPFs who imo still have some upside.

That's all I'd offer, if not enough so be it, we have enough Fwd if healthy.

We have too many that shouldn't be included in trade talks, reason enough to walk away. We also have a medical team that regularly underestimate injuries, so we are far from a destination to get Curnow on the park more.

Butters won't go to a basket case like Carlton and would cost more than 2x 1sts.

Buller needs to get done ASAP, he deserves 3 yrs and seems the most versatile out of all our tall fwds.

Alir for a future 2nd, another KB genius move

Sick of hearing about Curnow. We need a KPD.

If Carlton were stupid enough to take that deal id make it in a heart beat

In hindsight, it only took a few little timely tweaks for our starting midfield to currently read Grundy, Dawson, Dunkley and Serong!

I get your point but remember two chose not to be here.

I have been thinking about Curnow a lot. I'm not sure he is good enough to pay the cost Carlton expect. I am thinking it would be worth giving Ugle-Hagan a lifeline. Now I don't know how bad his off field life and attitude is so I am taking it on face value what I read in the media.

We would get him for bugger all - probably a 4th round pick or something. Just Bulldogs have to wear most of the contract. If we drafted him I would try to put some training/attendance clause in any contract. If he is not up to expectations by round 1 I would pay him out anything owed and let him go. If he is not willing to meet standards by then I would not want him affecting other players and the club reputation.

I think as others have said that a true KPD would be just as important as Curnow to our structure. The other issue is when do we find out about a 5 man interchange? It needs to be decided soon after the GF because Ladhams' value will go up a lot to us and other clubs if that is introduced.
