Hopefully he does well, but he's up against Ned Moyle, who's one of the better ruckmen running around in the VFL. And it's probably going to be a tough ask for the side, because with the Suns' minimal injury list they're fielding a very strong side.Comment

Going along much as expected, with the large advantage in AFL listed players for the Suns. Edwards and Shipley have been pretty good in midfield.Comment

Did pretty well to get the margin back to 41-24. Pressure has been good. Shipley leading the way. Edwards, Kirk and Sheldrick all pretty good around the ball. Hamling useful in defence, while I've quite liked some of the lead up work of Bowman.Comment

Did reasonably well to only lose 93-46, to a side that had 879 games of AFL experience, to our 115: almost all of it to Hamling. We did battle hard to the end.
Sheldrick got plenty of ball and his disposal was better than last game's infuriating effort. Shipley and Ben Edwards toiled hard in the middle, as did young Harrison: who looks at least up to VFL level.
I quite liked Bowman today. He did some useful leading up the ground and his goal was the result of a nice juggling mark. He seemed to be switched back to defence in the final quarter and looked fairly classy rebounding. Also in defence, in the second half, Snell started to show the form that had us optimistic about his prospects last season. Leidler also had a few handy involvements.👍 1Comment

The teams on paper were a massive mismatch, 879 AFLgames vs. 15 (excluding Hamling), also our VFL players were younger than usual with two teenagers coming in for their first game of the season. So a pleasant surprise not to be belted by 10 goals+. Heads didnt drop and continued to show endeavour until the end, just a gap in class was the difference.
Given my low expectation I was pleased with Bowman, as I hadn't really seen anything previously to get excited about. Not sure how much of a pre-season he had, but hopefully we continue to see improvement. Overall I don't think anyone is pushing hard to be picked in the seniors. Looking forward to and another tough game next week against GWS.👍 1Comment

I’d be keen to know from regular watchers what’s happened to Mitchell. He used to get high numbers and earned his debut last year, but he’s drifted off since. Views?Comment

I didn't watch the game today. Stats that stand-out:
- Sheldrick: 34 disposals at 71%, 13 contested
- Buller: 22 disposals (8 contested), 1.3 goals/behinds
- 8 of Leidler's 18 disposals were contested, 89% efficiency, 9 intercepts led all Swans
- Green: 24 hit-outs, 3 disposals
- Bowman with 5 tackles to go with 16 disposals and 1.2, 4 score involvements led listed players in that stat.Comment
