Supposedly the best mid if his draft, thats the least of an opportunity he should have been given.

I remember all his opportunities being deep in defence last year, he has looked good at times forward this year, but id run him thru the middle at times aswell.
He has attended centre bounces (not a lot i will give you that) and yes lots of opportunities given in defence but has never shown enough to even be warranted given more opportunities, you have to earn it and he hasn’t. Honestly he’s still getting a regular game because of where he’s was picked in the draft, he’s from NSW, the skill set he has and the fact we really don’t have anyone else.

My whole point when you draft a mid, top mid prospect, you have 2 yrs to make it happen as a mid.
Turns out playing him everywhere for those 2 yrs, other than the midfield, limits his ability to be a midfielder.

Chad is the only player I can remember in the last 5yrs + we have played as a Centre Bounce Midfielder early on from being drafted.

Sydney forever have made guys do their time elsewhere, I get that there is competition for spots but it's better to have a seasoned mid add a feather to his cap playing fwd or back then start a kid as a fwd or back and then try to make them a mid. Every club throws their kids in the middle.

Heeney is top 3 in the comp as a mid, and we waited til he was 28. How many years did Mills waste in defence before being an All Oz Mid ?

Dawson is a Brownlow Favourite that couldn't crack our mids.

Surely it’s up to our coaches to find the best position for him. Unfortunately at the moment his form doesn’t warrant a spot- he’s in the team as there’s no one else beating down the door, and that’s not good. I think wing or HF is his position and I’d leave him there for a run of games and hopefully he regains confidence while our better players are out injured.

The player I want to see given a go in the mids is Sheldrick. He is not a half forward flanker where we usually play him. Just not fast enough, agile enough or a good enough kick but he is good in the clinches.

I love your optimism and I truly believe the form is based on our attuide not personal IF we can turn thst around we may still have a pulse left this season - next 2 games will tells all we need to know
You make very good points about our pressure and yes, it does seem to be well down atm. I reckon that would have been a big part of this weeks review and also the tackle count. It's very un-Swans like and even Roosey was pointing this out during the week.

I think/hope we see a manic pressure game and a full team effort from our boys this week against GC.

The next 2 weeks will define us and like you I hope we can have full team efforts for both games
