General footy chat Round 8: the other games

I guess that I'll be going for Collingwood tonight, though I doubt if their unsettled side can beat Hawthorn; who I consider to be a genuine threat. Of course, the commentators unhinged devotion to Daicos, might have me swinging the other way. Then again, there's probably also going to be a heap of jiz for the Wiz. So that might neutralise things.

On Saturday, I find it interesting that West Coast are strong favourites, despite their last start being a 101 point loss to the not very good St Kilda. Which I guess gives an indication of the size of the hole that Richmond are currently in.

The round could have a fun end, with a game between two sides who might be contenders, or who might not be: Gold Coast and GWS.

Tonight's one of those games where you wish both teams could lose!

Could be a very entertaining watch, though. It'll be interesting to see the reaction of Collingwood fans to Ginnivan, especially seeing they didn't like Swans fans booing him when he was a Pie.

I would love to see the Hawks drop a game. That's unlikely to happen considering they've had a charmed run, playing against opposition missing important players for various reasons, mostly injury. This week, Hawthorn play against Collingwood with Pendlebury and Membrey out of the team.

      Good luck Collingwood.

Yes, I now remember that at the time, various Collingwood spokespeople claimed that Collingwood people don't boo. Which was a curious use of the English language.

Hawthorn might end up regretting their crap goalkicking this quarter. And it's curious how whenever they mention the Anderson story, they always talk up Sturt, but never quite recall the Swans academy

Collingwood making Hawks look very ordinary so far. Straight kicking helps!
