True, but it would seem the coaching staff have deemed that they need more from him in that area to allow us to keep pace with the rest of the compertition.

Maybe he just wants to be a good player with a balanced lifestyle.

For example, get to middle management in any large company and your options are laid out clearly in front of you.
You can become upper management, CEO, but you'll need to devote yourself to the company, probably ruin your marraige, never know your kids, work 60 hour weeks, travel all over the world/country, and grow fat on "power lunches".
Most people dont take that option. Is that failure ?
But you still need to do your data processing job well enough to keep your job.

I don't think the Sydney coaching staff want anything more special out of Nick Davis than the rest of the team, he just needs to make sure that he puts in like the rest of them. The rest (winning games off his own boot) will take care of it's self.

Would need to adjust for game time and position played...I think he'd fall a few places, but probably only to something in the teens.

Only one tackle in each of his last two games.

Of course tackling is only one indicator.

The team has had enough of entertaining Nick rather than Nick conformning to team. They humour him when it suits them and shun him when it doesn't.

Like Aker, when it's going ok on the field, it can be tolerated, when it ain't, every one has to change attitudes and gears and basically make up lost ground.

I can actually see why a rogue missing a massage after 4 losses would wind any manager up. Probably the 5th time he's done something similar.

Good luck to Nick. He's a fan fav, we all want him back and that includes Magic.
Good thoughts. EXCEPT for your comments that Nick doesn?t have the work ethic and that he does with as little output as possible.

Unfortunately, the ?fat, lazy a**ed footballer? tag is stuck on Nick, and people still perceive he is still that from seasons ago. Along with his hinted sarcasm about eating KFC etc, which I remind is a little humour, Nick will always come across as the bad guy. No matter how hard he has been trying, and how much he has improved from those initial comments he is and will be a target.

If you look back at when those comments were ?warranted? you?ll see a vast improvement to the player he is today. You can?t say someone screaming for the ball, to the point of getting frustrated at team mates for ignoring leads is someone that is not trying. Nothing ever gets published about his own extra training hours does it? If it did it he wouldn?t sound like someone constantly putting in as little output as possible.

Well doesn't help that we have a selfish budaaaaaaah in the side who is trying his best to create this aura about kirk the player who battled against the odds etc etc.

Those who refuse to pass to a leading Nick Davis should be dropped. Putting their own issues ahead of the team is not doing the team thing? right?

But naaaaaaah Nick is the bady one. Bad Nick. Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

They do expect more from him because he's naturally more gifted than most. It's been the story of his career.

In the SANFL with South Adelaide (with former Swans Bennett, McGlone and Thewlis). He has kicked 42 goals in 11 matches.

                      I miss Footyhead...

As for Nick, I saw a fat b*stard in the No 2 jumper running around against Adelaide, and as usually happens after a loss, we went home and watched the 2005 highlights DVD, and saw a fit and firing Nick turning it on in the finals series. I think there's a difference between playing guys with injuries who've trained hard and will play through the pain, and keeping your most talented player in the side even though he's too lazy to work as hard as he needs to, just because he played like a superstar twelve months ago.

What about if he played a bit like one 2 weeks ago too? 17 touches, 4 goals 3
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

I would be happy with 70% of that every week.
