    Hall injury speculation thread

On top of earlier media reports and poor kicking:

    1. Grabbed his lower back / upper buttock after falling the the ground in a contest
    2. Limping after the game

    Carrying something for sure.

He got a knee in the back in that marking contest...but apart from that still doesn't seem right.

If thats the problem,a lot of good HS stretches will do the job and he will be fine next week,IMHO.It used to work for me.

Needs a rest no question. Didn't even want to be chaired off the ground tonight, pointing to his back.

The question is do we rest him next week in the hope we can get the job done against Carlton.(Which we should Hall or no Hall)

its a tough one, all bottom teams come out fighting in the last game of the season and we need to win the game, but he seriously needs a rest.....

I think it would be a good idea to give Baz a rest. With Grundy up front and Micky O looking like he actually knows how to kick I think we can afford it. It might also be a good opportunity for Davis to find the ball as well. It also gives the forward line a go without Baz incase the injury develops later in the finals.

Last night's sore back isnt Hall's only problem at the moment. Something else is wrong. He hasnt really fired for a few weeks now. His marking and goal kicking is down and he doesnt seem to have his usual threatening presence at the moment. We can only hope that whatever is wrong 'mends' in the next 12 days.

Agreed as per comment elsewhere...but not sure Grundy has the ball getting ability to be relied upon to bridge the gap next week. Certainly Barry has to be "on the ball" if we are to progress in finals. Really a very ordinary performance last night...skill level / delivery of ball poor.

Correct Woo. I reckon he did it in the Richmond game at Testra Dome early in the season. Was very proppy after that game and from memory came off with about 10 minutes left, and really struggled in the traditional run around the ground to acknowledge fans.

Despite the Swans' fanatical code of silence re: injuries, it's been fairly well documented that Hall has struggled with hamstring tightness (which can manifest as lower back complaint) since going into the St Kilda game - which suggests he might have even carried it a little bit longer.

It's another reason why Grundy becomes important playing that roaming wrecking ball role across the forward and centre half forward lines (although he's started to struggle in the last couple of weeks a bit).

I think Heath is more FF than CHF material, some can play both and he might be able to in the future, but for now I don't see it in him. If they have concerns over Hall I would have liked to have seen Vogels brought in for LRT so he could start to get into the swing of things at senior level "just in case".
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time
