I'm proud of what Freo has achieved this season and I'm super proud of the supporters who were at the game last night - we could hear the Freeeeoooo chant loud and clear, even though you were heavily outnumbered.

Enjoy the moment once again guys and here's to a Swans v Adelaide GF... we'll be back to take you on again in 2007!!!

Almost a fair call. A few calls worked in our favour - but that's a rarity. Baz got a soft one or 2 - but he also missed out on some obvious ones. He's owed a few for the @@@@e treatment he gets from umps in general over the years. Plus his dominance up forward had nought to do with a soft free or 2. The unpaid mark leading to Goodes running into an open goal must've hurt.

As for the Freo supporters - there was a small bunch next to me & their noise drowned out anything the local crowd (in that area) could muster. I even got funny looks from the knobs around me for making too much noise (you'd think I was at the symphony). I'm sticking to the cheap seats in future.

Very gracious of you and you can be proud of your team. One of the things people hate about certain AFL clubs is shown in an experssion that bemused me when I first was exposed to VFL 30 years ago :'

"That's Collingwood: Awfull in defeat; worse in Victory" I kept hearing this and used to ask "havent you got that wrong?" It didnt take too manyseaons to work out they were right.
But The Dockers are giving AFL a good name , much to some people's surprise.
You and the Weegirls are like the Good Twin and The Evil twin of the West . No prize for guessing who the Evil Twin is just look at Hunter and Cousins . They look like two malevolent peas from the same pod.
Great season Dockers, you will be a problem next year

Seriously, how good is that Pavlich. I never really rated him, but last night he was just magnificent, even if he does get the benefit of the doubt of some dubious free-kicks.

My like for Freo & there supporters grew heaps last night. I was standing at the Brewery & up came a few to talk to us. They were really affable and had a good sense of humour. Somewhat warped, like those on the forum dockerland.com.

Freo are without doubt the club of the everyday working class man in Perth. They have no airs and graces about them, get no support or respect from the WA media at all, have been on the bottom of the ladder in complete disarray like us. And has risen from the ashes to become one of the better teams in the AFL.

Their supporters appeared to take things on the chin after the loss. Most were hoping we'd beat West Coast again in the Big One.

I swear, those guys are louder than even the Shed at Perth Glory matches. The "Freeeeeeeeeooooo" chant they all get going from up in the stands could really be heard all over the ground. We made attempts to try and counter it, but given the cocktail party crowd in the seats behind us they were generally only muted at best.

All the best to Freo & their supporters, the REAL football supporters in West Australia!

This decision was actually the right decision. The TV coverage replayed it from a revealing angle and the ball can be quite clearly seen rebounding out of his arms and hitting the ground. So the umps got this one right and I would be saying this (albeit with more regret) even if had been a Swan that wasn't paid the mark.

Not withstanding BBBB's hand in McPharlins face, McPharlin clearly was facing away from the ball and holding Hall in the early part of that marking contest and if it was play on, a fair call, I have no doubt O'Loughlin would have held the mark anyway, he appears to give up on the second grab when the whistle blows.

My problem with that passage of play was the 'holding the ball' free that led to the kick to that contest, Freo bloke very hard done by.

Full credit to the Freo supporters - their cheering was awesome.

As for our supporters, what a pathetic bunch. Hardly said boo all night. Fancy 1000 Freo supporters way out shouting 60000 swans supporters.

when Pavlich kicked a goal at begining of final qrtr hardly a sound was heard, front running supporters, like their team

I'm not going to pretend, didn't respect Freo before game, during game or after. They are a basket case.

Won't be taken seriously until they get rid of that riduclous jumper and song

Let's face it we all thought this week was an interlude before we play real team

Also a note for the peanuts in the papers saying Fremantle were beaten by an older more experienced team, finals maybe, but they were the oldest team in the finals

Disagree with most of what you say. I like the way they play & I love the fact they hate the Wiggles more than us. They're also learning how to play more consistently away from home. I simply think they played their final last week & anything else was going to be a bonus.

The purple is a bit much - but who gives a flying @@@@ what colour you're wearing?

Whose AFL team song ISN'T ridiculous? I'll sing ours anytime, but it's still very silly.

Sorry mate, but you're starting to sound like a Wiggle.

                        You totally missed my point.

My issue is with the quietness of the Sydney ground in general and used the small number of Dockers supporters as an example of how a small group can make a lot of noise.

The Freo supporters were great last night! Ended up with a couple of them at The Exhibiton Hotel til the wee hours and now have a place to stay when I go to Perth next year! Man I love footy!!!

I agree, they were loud considering how outnumbered they were. Every time they got their chant going I tried to start one to drown them out, much to the disgust of the (swans supporting) woman in front of Wardy who gave me dirty looks, tutted and put her fingers in her ears. At least she gave me a good excuse to get louder
