I will say this though, go and follow Hawthorn, Essendon or Carlton and complain. FFS 2 GF's in 2 years and it's still not good enough.

    See you all on Friday
On ya Annie! Gotta put this in perspective. I think the current group has played (and been coached) well above ANYBODY's expectations since Roos took over. I'm disappointed with the loss - but after absorbing it all for a few days - I can't be disappointed with MY team.

I have a suggestion for you.
In 2007, get out from in front of your computer terminals, get selected to the team, train four or five days a week, make the senior team, play 22 weeks of home & away football, play four weeks of finals (or two or three), play a grand final and either win or lose.
How can you feel "let down by the players".
      Sheesh.
      No respect.

I guess we should not criticize the Government either. Or the church. Or the CEO of any company. Or a surgeon that botches an operation or a doctor that misdiagnoses. No criticism of anything you couldn't do better yourself. All stations to nuff nuff.

Cow ... I KNOW I (personally) can't do better. I can't speak for all of you, but having met some of you last Saturday, I KNOW some of YOU can't do better either.

I have absolutely no inclination to play AFL (in any way, shape or form). All I'm saying is that our guys did REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY well this year, and that this "I feel let down by the players" line is a load of crap. The only time that you have a "right" to feel "let down by the players", is if you are ONE of them.

Considering the fact that the 15 other captains in the comp at the beginning of the year didn't even rate us another Grand Final appearance and that 2005 was a "mistake" or we were just "lucky" with our injuries, proves that we are a force to be reckoned with.

I, for one, are incredibly proud of them and their efforts in 2006.
            Bring on 2007.

Well I hope you never criticise anyone Annie as it is most likely you won't be able to do better than they did!!

Way over 175.68% MOST likely I'll will NEVER be able to do any (or anywhere near) as good or better than they did ... EVER!!!!

I generally try not to criticise anyone NMW, it's not a really good feeling when I am being criticised, so I try not to pass on bad feelings to anyone .... especially when I know I can do no better!!!

I reckon that the last two years have been the BEST two years in the last 20 for me.

@@@@ no! I could do a better job than John Howard. & the pope. & most surgeons. All I ask is that we put recent performance into perspective. We lost a game we could've won if we played a little better at times - it hurts - especially against those knobs - but we gotta deal with it gracefully. Hardly makes us nuffs.

I've had a gutful of "don't criticize the team" and "real fans support the team through thick and thin" and cheering off a team that doesn't care.

If you want pom poms and rah rah rah go team, then @@@@ off from RWO and join the cheersquad. If it hurts your feelings to see a player or team bagged when they underperform then stay in your room and write love letters to Goodes or Crouch or whichever player you are stalking.

The fact is the better side won on the day, not the hungrier or more determined side.

If you feel let down, empathise with the players for a moment.

Stop bagging your own team and start supporting them through the thick and thin. That's what it's about.
Well said, they tried their guts out. At the end of the day it all came down to luck and things like the ball bouncing different ways etc, swans had a tonne of luck last year and for most of this year it had to run out eventually. I think everyone should just be grateful they saw a flag last year, cause that could of easily gone the weagles way as well. Look at rabbles like saints, melbourne, carlton, essendon, kangas etc they would kill for a flag and sure we lost this year BUT at least we won it last year!

Cow, my feelings aren't hurt cause the team are getting bagged. Hells bells pet, I sat through the 80's .... what a freakin' bagging that was!! I've felt what it feels like to lose 26 games in a row.
The simple fact that Sydney and West Coast beat FOURTEEN other teams to the grand final is huge. Win or lose, at least we were there. I'm pretty bloody happy with that.

Been there, seen it before. All very poor consolation prizes.

The Swans have missed quite a few chances to win a Premiership over the last 20 years and this year was the worst.

It's this attitude that really gets on my nerve and was often used as an excuse by some fans throughout the year. "At least we won last year" - yes it does dull the pain somewhat but we were a decent half of football short of joining the all time great teams by winning back to back flags. Will the excuse "At least we won in 2005" still be trotted out next year, in 2008 and 2018 if we don't win another flag??
It must be ingrained in some Swans' fans to not only tolerate but celebrate mediocrity. I am not for a minute suggesting 2006 was mediocre, but the reality is the current team was 1 point short of staging probably the greatest grand final comeback since Carlton in 1970. That would really standout in the history books.
"As everyone knows our style of football is defensive and unattractive, and as such I have completely forgotten how to mark or kick over the years" - Brett Kirk

They are a tough team to follow. I didn't mention this pearler:
