As I pointed out before, other players had bad games. To assume that the baby is the only reason he played badly seems very short sighted to me. So i gave some examples of other players on our team who have had babies and played well.

It seems perfectly possible to me that Jolly would have played poorly either way, making all this hoo haa a waste of forum space!

Sure, Roos says it was his broken hand. But if he turned up with a hangover would you still feel the same?

        The irony is killing me.
He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.

Most new fathers aren't dehydrated, nauseous, drunk, or have acetaldehyde in their blood. Hangoever symptoms are obvious. New baby symptoms aren't.

I'm not saying it didn't affect his game. I'm saying we don't know if it did. I mean, Bazza might have had a fight with his girlfriend the night before and had a bad game. Jude might still long for Delta and have spend hours friday night writing her a letter professing his feelings. Anything's possible, but we don't know what happened! So we should give him the benefit of the doubt.

So you couldn't tell? How could you tell in this case? He played bad, therefore it was the baby? Spoken to him about it?

Nominate yourself for HOTW LA - that's one of the silliest arguments I've ever heard for "why my team lost".

From your current situation, I suspect you're as good at family planning as I am - to expect this level of "strategic intercourse scenario modelling" from Jolly is a tad hypocritical.

So who can tell me that they know that Jolly had a bad game due to his new bub?

And can that person then explain the dud-ish games of Hall and Bolton? Your insight would be very valuable in this forum!

Why is it hypocritical? I am not playing in a grand final. I was horny, failed to use contraceptive, was hoping for a boy having had two girls already. I made a choice and am a cracking shot.

However, if I felt that I had a good chance of playing in a GF in 9 months then I can tell you I would certainly have abstained or been extremely careful.

Of course we don't know what the exact scenario is, but we know it was his honeymoon and we know that condoms are 96% effective. We know that when used in combination with the contraceptive pill, the probability of conception is vanishingly low.

People are upset that we lost. Jolly @@@@@@ up. I don't understand why pointing that out is considered tantamount to crucification.

Hall has been carrying an injury and struggling in the later part of the year and his Grand Final was not his worst game of the past couple of months.

Jude Bolton had a totally typical game v West Coast: 8 disposals v Eagles in the QF, 18 disposals and 2 behinds in round 15 and his 2005 GF had 14 disposals and 2 behinds exactly as he did this year. Not atypically dud-like.

Jolly had his worst game in two years with the Swans.

I think we should go easy on Jolly. He had a crap game, sure. Cost us a flag, sure.

                                But the baby is Cressas.

                                I cant back that up.
