    Very funny

Sometimes i think anecdotal discussions about anecdotal anecdotes lack credence due to their anecdotal nature

and I'd like to know what drugs the government committee were on the day they passed the plans for Federation Square - that is just the most god awful thing /Building/structure whatever it is!

But back to Spida - He's got a new start, he will embrace it - lets hope that they Sydney siders embrace him.

The Yarra is a brown stain on the Melbourne cityscape.

It is INCOMPARABLE to the emerald Sydney Harbour.

          Nuff said.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Great. Thread descends into age old pointless SYD V MEL argument. Anyone who has not lived in both please STFU.

I also love how Spida gets slammed for daring to have Tattoos and a haircut that isn't some cloned blonde mop. Who GAF?

I swear this place has been taken over by 15 yr old girls.

no I'm 42 - but I didnt resort to such things (and I have lived in both Syd & Melb - each has its good and bad points!)

I reckon Spida is ok - hope he goes really well. everyone deserves a chance at a new start.

But you have to agree Federation Square is just ghastly!

                I'm 41 and I'm just bored !!!

I welcome Spida with open arms. He's wanted to come TO US for so long now, I wish him all the luck in the world.

It could have been way worse people .... we *could* have gotten someone who really didn't want to move to the big bad smoke, and as a consequence, only plays a half-arsed game ... kinda like what Spida did to the Dawks this year.

I hope he does what he says he wants to do ... play footy, play with his kids and not be a media slut.

It's good to see the discussion slowly swinging back to what this thread was intended for, and i think you make a good point. Everitt has made it obvious that he genuinely wants to play for Sydney, and that has to stand for something, i don't have any doubt that he'll put 110% into each game, and it should prove to be one of his best seasons to date. Good to have you here spides.

In anycase, do you think Roos recruited Spida to keep Doyle or Jolly in the reserves? There has to be a plan to work around three ruckman.

No other club has 3 captains, just because it doesn't happen often doesn't mean it wont, Roos has to have a plan and just because you are a ruckman, doesn't mean you have to ruck....
I reckon we may see Jolly and Doyle alternating in the ruck with Spida in the Forwad pocket. He is well known for his goal kicking abilities as well as his ruckwork. Don't think it will happen all of the time, but for some games/periods I reckon it would really clobber the other teams....how will big Cox cope with that?

He's spent pretty much his entire career playing with cellar-dwelling teams (apart from the Saints' brief flirtation with finals football in the late nineties, when he'd have been pretty young).

He must realise he now has a pretty good opportunity over the next two years to end his career as a premiership player and I'd imagine that should be sufficient motivation to play the best he is capable of still playing.

Good points Liz, and as I reckon we have 2 maybe three years left in our premiership winning window this time around, having Spida could make us and him very happy indeed.

Yeah I dunno. I was initially rapt that we were in the hunt to get him, but I now have mixed feelings. He is well past his best, and he aint get younger or better. His attitude is questionable at times and going on previous departures, he comes across as a traitor. Not sure he's the "messiah" that everyone is expecting him to be.
