Our seating was interesting. There were the five vacant seats next to us to allow for a TV camera. That wasn't there. Shows bad planning by the broadcaster.

And we were basically surrounded by theater goers. There was a
guy who told me to sit down when I stood up to cheer the team on the ground.

There was another guy who kept urging us to wave our flag like we were performing monkeys! (Tho I did shake his hand afterwards, he was on our side).

One guy here mentioned that Spida is on $1m for the two years...didn't read that on the weekend, but is that right? Can anyone confirm?

      Geez, that's a lot.

If the 500K a year is true (big IF), I imagine that is the maximun he could earn based on playing every game, no suspensions, playing finals, awards and premierships.

The only player I think we have ever had to be on a contract that lost no value even when injured or suspended was Plugger.

My first thought was that was what Spida was going to nominate if he was to be going to the PSD to scare off other would-be suitors. We'd then have to pay him that.

I'm not sure how it works though now that we collected him during trade week, whether we need to do the same.

You'd think (hope!) his contract would be heavily performance-based.

I herd on SEN that he was going to be on $330000 per year.I think that was from his management.
Now this is a thread that i would expect on the ego -centric, wank session that is redandwhiteonline.com...

He and partner Sheree, who is pregnant and due on Boxing Day, will house-sit for close friend Barry Hall while the Swans co-captain is away in Ireland for the International Rules Series.
If spida has brought his kids, I hope Barry put away the good crockery and glasses.

Poor little Spida ... he's gunna get all lost in the big smoke.
Wow ... Sydney's bigger than Melbourne. Oh der Fred!!
It's a lot faster too. Oh, and you'd better watch out for them hills. There's lots and lots of em. I don't fancy his chances of being unrecognised in Sydney ... a little less hassled perhaps, but no less unrecognised. Footballers don't feature that highly on the A list here.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

I believe that quote was from the Tim Morrissey story on Sunday?
That whole story was taken from an interview he did on MMM on Saturday, very jokingly suggested to Russ Barwick that he could stay at Hally's while he is in Ireland, and also said he hadn't mentioned it to Baz.
I get annoyed with stories like that which purport to be an interview with someone, when it's just a collection of quotes given to others.

You can guess I get annoyed a lot reading the papers
I hear not what you say, for the thunder of who you are.

I've lived in both Sydney and Melbourne.
