How do you think our ruck coach, Jason Ball, will go telling Spida how to ruck?In memory of my little Staffy - Dicey, 17.06.2005 to 1.12.2011- I'll miss you mate.Comment

No it doesn't. It just gives us greater depth and flexibility. One of them could help out our already undersized back line by going back across half back, cutting off opposition forays into our forward 50. Another could rest in the forward line and do the ruckwork there, freeing Barry Hall up to concentrate on his job as a key position forward rather than a part time (crap) ruckman.Originally posted by hammo
Agree.
Spida's arrival gives new meaning to the phrase "Plonk the Donk"
Ruckmen because of the fierce nature of ruck contests these days tend to go down injured more than your average players playing elsewhere. So more depth will help us cover things like injury. Or the odd unexpected birth of a baby.
I was originally unhappy about Everitt coming here, but am warming to it, considering we didn't lose too much in terms of draft picks etc . (What is it for ex-St Kilda players coming to Sydney with bad reputations then starring for us?!

Ease up, Bazza has done some smart work with his forward fifty ruck duties in recent years.Originally posted by JF_Bay22_SCG

No we need someone to help Leo in the back line.Originally posted by shole
hopefully we can play with 3 ruckmen with one resting forward. That way there's a big height advantage that we can have
Big, moblie opposition forwards are killing us. Palvich etc.Last edited by Cosmic Wizard; 13 October 2006, 07:39 PM.doof-doof

3 ruckmen = depth.
I would be very surprised if they played all three in a game.
And I'd be very surprised if all 3 are fit for more than 5 games next year with a 'vetran' and an injury prone Doyle.
Wise selection in teh end, and I think we got a good deal. The difference between insanity and genius is measured only in success.Comment

Exactly mate, we could be here all night if we wanted to remember every dud player we picked up, every team has an endless of reject recruits that they regret, but i rather focus on the smart moves we've madeOriginally posted by Go Swannies
