IMO, Ben Cousins is a tool, and therefore is fair game. Farmer and Dodd aren't tools.

It is not the first time Farmer and Dodd have had disciplinary issues. Farmer pleaded guilty to assaulting his long-time girlfriend two years ago.

Farmer withdrew an earlier not guilty plea and admitted he had punched his partner several times while driving his car in Osborne Park.

Dodd was suspended for a game in 2005 after breaking club policy barring players from drinking alcohol while recovering from illness or injury.

WA's Sport and Recreation Department director Ron Alexander, a former Eagles coach, called for Cousins to be cut some slack.

Alexander didn't condone Cousins' behaviour but said there was an unfair fascination with his off-field activities

"It's become a sport to see what Ben's done next," Alexander said. "This appears to be over-magnified, a lot more so than it needs be."

An "incident" occured.

Although no details of the Farmer-Dodd incident were released, it is believed they were involved in an altercation at the fashionable nightspot.

An altercation generally means fight/push and shove/slapped wrist call it what you like. It is a bit more than just behaving like a fool when your smashed.

Don't need a thread for that. A "patron" has already done it.

A statement released by the club yesterday said Mitchell was punched on the side of the face about 11.30pm outside a Hawthorn hotel after a patron verbally abused and struck a woman in his group.

I hate Cousins. I've always hated Cousins. And you know what, I'll probably always hate Cousins ... doesn't matter how many booze buses he runs from, doesn't matter how many times he gets, or allegedly gets arrested, doesn't even matter how many brownlows he wins. He does get away with an awful lot of crap in Perth, just becasue he's "The Cuzz". (My brother lived in perth, it was one of his favourite subjects.)

It's just a budgie thing. I really can't decide which team I hate more, the budgies (Judd & Cousins) or the pies (Eddie & Maltmouth). It's a dilemma!!
