Sydney V West Coast Pre Match Discussion

2 weeks to go until the rematch!

Listening to updates from the practice match between WC and Bulldogs, Glass has rolled an ankle, Hansen a groin so both are apparantly "in doubt" for round one.

    Wait and see though.
    Swannies for life!

And no Hunter in the forward line you'd suspect as well!

Team Rround 1 v West Coast

Adam Schneider, Barry Hall, Nic Fosdike, Ryan O'Keefe, Michael O'Loughlin, Jude Bolton, Amon Buchanan, Brett Kirk, Luke Ablett, Tadhg Kennelly, Lewis Roberts-Thomson, Craig Bolton, Ted Richards, Leo Barry, Nick Malceski, Jarrad McVeigh, Darren Jolly, Adam Goodes, Ben Mathews, Nick Davis, Sean Dempster, Stephen Doyle

The above 22 ran out for us in the 2006 GF.

We know that Ablett, LRT, Schneider & Doyle won't be ready for the game in a couple of weeks. Who comes in for them at this stage?

Ablett - Would have thought Schmidt was a real possible but the late run from Crouch gets him the gig if he is ready

LRT - Need some further height to help Barry, Bolton & Richards so Vogels appeals in that regard

Schneider - They play a similar role and with his impressive practice games form Flipper gets the gig

Doyle - Was their any doubt that Everitt would be coming in for him.

So I have the team as follows:

                FB: Matthews, Leaping, C Bolton
                HB: Kennelly, Richards, Eski
                C: Fosdike, J Bolton, Brownlow
                HF: McVeigh, BBBH, ROK
                FF: Flipper, Magic, Davo
                Fol: Spida, Kirk, Bucky
                Int: Jolly, Dumpster, Crouch, Vogels

Very capable team that has no excuses come round one.

Vogels played well last week though, Hopefully the reserves practise match this week will determine whos best for round one out of vogels and white. Who do you play forward and who do you put back is the question.

I'm looking for someone (could be a group effort) to do a Match preview of this game (and hopefully the rest of the season, doesn't have to be the same person.)
Need to do possible match ups, players to watch from both teams, etc etc. I have some examples, of previously written previews, from both RWO and EFH to use as a guideline.

It can be written in advance, but needs to be completed after the teams are announced on Thursday night, and be ready Friday morning, so the article can be posted.

                        Anyone interested please PM me.

Is Hunter not likely to play? That would be a shame cause i want to hear 50,000+ Swans supporters tell him what a ....... he is.

Just punch an Eagle in the middle of the face and label him "Hunter."

I moderated the language! What I posted was what you would see in a paper like the SMH. Surely if its OK for use in a paper like the SMH we can use the same here? I think that moderation of swearing has gone overboard on RWO.
