Paul Roos: Rocket's attack off target

Eade was a wonderful Sydney coach, who probably stayed a season too many.
1998 was clearly our best chance out of his reign (not withstanding the obvious chance we had in 1996), but we did luck out to face the reigning premier on a wet night in Sydney. Things simply didn't work our way.
I don't think Eade was, or is, a perfect coach, but he moulded us into a team that could beat anyone, make finals and under him the modern, powerful, Sydney Swans were born.
I find it hard to believe there can be anger against him 5 years and a Premiership after he left. It's simply pathetic.
I might start a "Is Barrassi our worst coach for failing to take us to the finals with Lockett, Roos, Kelly, Cresswell, Dunkley in the team" thread.
It's fine to talk about regrets during Eade's coaching stint, but there was a lot to like. He didn't win us the flag, but seeing Roos is the only person since 1933 to do that anyway, I don't think that is too much of a crime either.Comment

Though if the empowerment is championed by Roos, it is hard to argue he himself has very little to do with it.Comment

Although the general premise of the day was that Eade had pushed the barrow of "us against them" passed its use by date. The players were playing stale football and "favourites" always seemed to get an easier ride.
Regardless, as has been said countless times, when Eade is on his game there probably is no better game day coach.
Perhaps though he is once again exploiting this situation to build up an "us against them" mentality within the young Bulldogs.Comment

if rocket had any respect left for the swannies, he wouldn't be attacking us like he is. he pretty much accused us of cheating. bad rocket, bad.
still sounds like a cry baby sooky whinger.
get over it rocket, the doggies are our bitches.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

But for one millisecond and some luck and some genius, Roos' finals record wouldn't be so much ahead of Eade's.
The difference is very fine.Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

I think we're one ahead, courtesy of beating WC in the first round of the finals in 2004.
The 2005 and 2006 records are mirror images of each other.Comment

Poor at motivating players
Excellent with match day tactics and response.
