I thought 'Eski was well beaten by Thomas.

Being in the best 5 players of last night's side isn't much...

I thought Thomas looked dangerous all night and generally had the better of his contests with Malceski.

I agree with SR100 that it was poor coaching to leave Malceski back there.

I think we should be looking to play a 7 man back line with Malceski, Kennelly or Dempster as a loose man.

Apologies for my poor grammar I meant that the team shared only the last attribute with Wardy's colleagues.

Well its better than being a hack like B1,like i said Thomas was ok thats it.On playing a 7 man defence what a load of bollocks we already have a tight arse defence what we need is more drive through the midfield. We should play Dempster or Melcho in the midfield in my expert opinion.

think he meant that the 7th would be a lose player creating attack from defence and providing some drive through the midfield. A role kennelly or malceski could play.

I would like to see better defence in our forward line, the ball came out of there too quickly last night, not much pressure from our forwards.

Exactly, plus help out our undersized defenders.

Why is it on RWO when we play badly we "loose" and when we have a man behind the ball he is "lose"?

I thought we had an 18 man back line.

Did the tide turn slightly (ever so slightly) when Dempster was moved to the back line. He seemed to play a far bit of the start of the game up forward.
While I like the idea of him having that booming kick hanging around the forward line, the ball barely got to the F50 and when it did it came straight out again with little or no pressure. But he seemed to make more of a difference down back.

Yes, I've thought for a while that a sweeper would suit our game, and I noticed Dempster do a couple of good things so thought I'd mention it again. I think Kennelly, Malceski and Dempster all have good kicks and are reasonably smart footballers, and can help out in defence, so a rotating sweeper between these three may work quite well. The rotation would make it more difficult for the opposition to match up.

I also noticed ROK is dropping back to cut off forwards thrusts more regularly in the last few games (esp the Hawks game). I think this has been more in desparation rather than a planned move.
