Yep, Brisbane was never a sure win in Brisbane, but it looking an even tougher ask with the Lions current form. Saints and Pies, were always going to be the tough games.

BTW, cruiser, I don't think they will play a final at SS. I imagine it would be in either MCG, or TD.

Of course, dunno what made me think that.

Re Brisbane, I don't for a moment think that it'll be a sure win but I think we're a chance. Even during the Lions premiership years Sydney played well at the Gabba (who can forget Halls match winning goal after the siren). I think that the Saints will be difficult at TS too. The only two games I have marked down as likely wins are Melbourne and Hawthorn.

Assuming Swans win all remaining games, to make the top 4 we need:

            * either West Coast or Port to lose 2 games

            * Kangaroos to lose 3 games

Remembering we'll go past Hawthorn and Collingwood if we beat them, and also keep Brisbane at bay of we keep winning.

            Our best hopes are that:

Geelong to keep winning - they'll knock off Kangaroos (1) and Port (1) for us.

West Coast keep winning - they'll knock off the Kangaroos (2)

Brisbane keep winning - they'll knock off Kanagaroos (3)

I can't see West Coast losing the 2 required, but obviously if Kanagroos manage to beat them then we need another loss to come from somewhere.

I agree with ROK Lobster though, the Swans still need to show a bit more to beat Brisbane, St Kilda and maybe Collingwood in current form.

Amazing how things change in a few weeks....

Only a week or so ago we all thought the Lions game was money for jam and the Pies would be our loss in the run home. Now it's looking anything but that!!

The Pies are fading, and the Lions are roaring....

Regardless, we still have to win them all if we're any chance to make the 4....

                Not all of us.

Would making the 4(in 4th) and playing Geelong, in their current form, be anymore beneficial than 5th or 6th, and getting a first up home final? We'd still end up with and away PF.

A first up home final and then possibly a trip to AAMI. We may not even get to the PF via that route!

Would still prefer to have a crack at Geelong at Telstra Dome (Probably) in the first round when we can afford to drop one, rather than meet them in a sudden death game (SF, QF or PF!).

Then on GF day, at the MCG, the tables even up a bit!

Winning a first up home elimination final might be a good confidence boost as opposed to getting beaten by Geelong in a QF in Melbourne. And playing Port in a final at AAMI should hold no fear for us, rather, I think it'd frighten Port supporters.

To be fair, when I tried the ladder predictor it was more out of curiosity as to what our likely finish would be in case we did go on and win all 5 games. So we're not all biased, although I won't judge anyone who views things through red-and-white-coloured glasses either!
