Since when have the Swans been worried about being boring?

The game was won, the flood was on and there were free Swans players across our back half. Better to keep the ball than turn it over and concede a goal on the break.

i don't care if we flood..as long as we don't concede goals doing it and we win at the end of the night. I didn't know that the main objective was entertainment first and then a tilt at premiership glory second!

True, but I reckon if Stuey Maxfield was playing still, he would taken the flood on.

If you ask some people around here, an exciting game where we attack and possibly turn the ball over is much more enjoyable than chipping it around and icing the clock whilst the opposition refuses to man up.

Me.... I just like to win.

If you ask some people, they will misunderstand the question and waffle on about something completely incorrect...

Too right. I thought it was crap tactics by St Kilda to flood back when they were three goals down into time on. They as good as conceded the game to us at that point. I was more than happy to watch our defenders increase their disposal stats at that point in the game as they kicked the ball around to each other unchecked.

There's always time to thread another goal through.
                Go forward!!!!!
I'd agree. No problems if there's only a few minutes but 10 is a long time.

There was one situation where St Kilda had flooded the Swans forward line. Bolton/Esky just chipped it around (and the howls from the crowd started immediately) and I was thinking to myself, just watch, they're going to draw some men back out and will then kick long.

                And they did just that.
Captain, I am detecting large quantities of win in this sector

Silly woman. The chipping around game at the end was extremely smart play.

A few extra goals our way may have pumped our percentage another point or two.
At this time of the year with the ladder up for grabs, we need as many percentage points as we can get.
They had ample opportunity in the last ten minutes to bung a few more in.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

The Swans also had amply time to bang it into our overcrowded forward line and watch it quickly rebound for a couple of quick Saints' goals that would have given them a late sniff of success.

Personally, I hate flooding and love watching a team show the guts to go kick to kick until the others man up. I've rarely laughed as much as I did during the bizarre Crows-Tigers game last year when the all-powerful Crows flooded and the Tiger cubs played kick to kick.

                        ? That is simply ridiculous.

Why would you charge on and kick the ball on if they have spare players back and we have everything to lose by turning the ball over?

You don't sit in aisle 109 do you?

Kick to kick is ten minutes AFTER the siren, not 10 minutes before it.

How many times have they stuffed up the chipping around of the ball (this year especially) and the opposition have scored off it? Quite a few my friend.

I like to see us have (read keep) our healthy percentage. So sue me.

As for Aisle 109 ... I have MUCH better seats than that.

How is this a question of % when we already had 126% from that game?

Which is the % play? Short kicks to unmarked players or long kicks to contests where we are outnumbered? We may have turned over a short possession, but I can guarantee we've had less turnovers playing short in our back half than kicking to contests.

If we are winning by more than a goal and the other team chooses to flood - tough titties. Their problem, and good play by us.

To boo, howl or carry on AGAINST the swans in that case is ludicrous. Take it out on the Saints for not creating a contest...
