So to summarise, we have one inspirational speech in 2005, a few hits in 2003 and 2004 and the kokoda track.
IMO ... blah.
At the end of the day, history is not going to remember Brett Kirk.
History will remember a dual-brownlow medalist though.Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

As of next year, probably none.
What about teams that have Brownlow medallists that aren't the captain? Brisbane, Essendon, Hawthorn, StKilda.
Kelly was captain before he was a Brownlow medallist. So were Cousins, Buckley, and Ricciuto.
Most captains show something more than just being the best player in the comp for a year or two.
Woewodin, Harvey and Williams were never captains. Plenty more examples looking further back.Last edited by NMWBloods; 4 September 2007, 05:03 PM.Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

I disagree - I think Kirk is just as, if not more valuable than Goodes.
For example, if I was managing Richmonds list, I would be more likely to chase Kirk than Goodes, simply because they are lacking fibre and leadership from their club, more so than talent.
Kirk will certainly be remembered for a long time to come, as he is admired in the same way Archer is amongst football fans.He ate more cheese, than time allowedComment

Shouldn't players and the coaching staff decide who's the best suitable player to be the Swans captain? My personal preference would be to have only one and if possible it would be Kirk. Adam might be a champion player, but he gets occasionally very distracted, most noticably first half of teh year. In my books that's a smudge on a player that might have any leadership aspirations.Comment
