If Collingwood are looking to trade for Judd, maybe we should get involved by trading our first rounder for Dane Swan, which the Pies can on-trade to the Weagles.

I dont understand what your fascination with Dane Swan is? He is virtually the same player as Luke Ablett...

Swan is a much better player than Ablett - gets 9 more possessions per game to start with!

We really, really, really need another Ablett.

You're being overly generous to Luke Ablett.

They fair dinkum LOOK like brothers, but that is where the similarity stops. Swan is twice the player, unfortunately.

Better than Ablett, plus his surname is Swan. He's born to play for Sydney.
I only support one team: The SYDNEY SWANS!!!!! :adore

Dane Swan your right is similar to Noggy but a fair bit better, most of the time he starts on the bench but when he comes on he does the job and he gets a fair bit of the pill.BTW i would swap Noggy for Swan in a heart beat, but i still like Noggy.
Now this is a thread that i would expect on the ego -centric, wank session that is redandwhiteonline.com...

They are a very very similar type of player, and I would guess that Swan would fit the same role as Ablett should he get a run with the swans. I've got nothing against either player, but I think Ablett could come on the same as Swan has. He took some big steps last year.

Overall, I think that type of player is the last on our needs list.

When's Ablett going to 'come on' like Swan? He's already played over 20 more games than Swan. Most likely he just can't progress much further. In what way has Ablett improved greatly in the past couple of years?

?? He started the year with no pre season. He was expected to miss the first 8-9 weeks. Ablett hasn't improved 'greatly' in the past few years. He has been improving steadily, but I think he has the potential to improve. It could be a role change within the team.

How did Kirk improve so much?

In the end, I think they're very similar players, and not a spot where we'd have a vacancy, despite the fact that Swan is probably more valuable than Ablett.

Yep, Swan is developing into an elite AFL midfielder. I doubt Ablett will reach that class.

I used to rate him as a handy player but his disposal is getting worse, not better.

Will you get off his back.if his name wasn't Ablett i dont think you would be so harsh.
