It would make interesting to see how the TLM and BMR's top ten players compares. It's not having a go at BMR, but would be interesting to see how the fans votes compare to who the press sees as best players each week.

                    Rnd 5 v Melbourne

Melbourne are down and out with a huge injury list. This is a game the swans must win. Hall is unstoppable in the first qtr, until the Dees dropped a player into the hole in front of him. This slowed his impact, but he still managed to have a huge impact on the ground. 6 goals to 1 in the first.
Davis was back showing his worth to the team with some great kicks into the F50. Kirk and Bolton worked hard in the midfield. Kennelly, Richards and Barry, continued their great work down back. While Malceski continued his rise of stature with the team.
The Dees, started to perfrom better through Bates and Davey, with great help from new boy Petterd. But they had no answer to stop the rampaging swans, who did enough to keep them at bay, and never let them get within sight of stealing victory. The night was soured by an ugly knee injury to Kennelly, closely followed by another to Ablett.
                    49 point win.

                    Rnd 6 v Kangaroos

The night at the Dome started, well winning the ball and getting it forward, but for little reward.
The Roos however, banged on goal after goal. Ex-Swan Shannon Grant the standout player. Down by 6 goals at the first break. Not the start we were looking for. An exact opposite of the previous weeks start.
A bit of reshuffling and the swans manage to stem the flow, but not stop it. 2 goals to one and the score has not improved much.
The third term offers a little bit more, but the swans still can't get on top. The Roos are on fire, as they have been for the past few weeks. The highlight of the term is a great mark and goal to Jolly, and a spectacular high flying mark from Leaping Leo, which brought the crowd to their feet.

Goals to Mathews, Hall and O'Loughlin, and wer are within 4 points, the game is there to be taken, the crowd is riding every bump, and the team is lifting. The ball rebounds once too often and the Roos extend their lead, beyond the reach of the resurgent swans.
Keiran (Son of Gary) Jack, promoted to SEnior list and a solid debut agsint the Roos.

                          Rnd 7 v St Kilda

A good start was needed to be on top of the Saints. An early goal to Hall and Goodes and we were away.
Unfortunately, the Saints were up to the task and hit back. 4.4 to 4.1 at the first break.
Another fairly even term with the saints on top but only just. The umps were having an interesting game. Seemed the whistle was stuck in there mouth when the Saints got near the ball.
R O'Keefe was having another great game. Goodes was playing better but not great. Hall was double teemed, but Gehrig was having the better of Leo, and C Bolton was having a dirty night against Reiwoldt. The mega flood was happening both ways. It was a case of who could break out of defence and score quickly with no one in the forward line. Again it was the Saints who delivered. During one passage of play the Saints had the whole team in the D50, and the swans patiently chipped the ball around the outside of the 50, until a shocking pass inside was grabbed and snapped truly. Awful bit of play from both sides.
5 goals to 2 in the 3rd and it was all but over. The swans tried hard, and when it looked like we'd have some chance of success the men in yellow stepped in to rescue us from ourselves. A fairly even 4th qtr again on the scoreboard, but we just couldn't make any inroads on the score.
                          26 point loss.

                          Rnd 8 v Port Adelaide

Port Adelaide loomed as a big test for the Swans. 2 losses on the trot and Port are the current ladder leaders.
The boys start off on fire to quell any early signs of a Port Victory, kicking early goals, before the behinds set in.
A handy 3 goal lead gives the fans some hope. The swans win the 2nd term as well, but some poor finishing keeps Ports hopes alive. 5 goal (or 4.6) lead at halftime.
Ablett and J Bolton have come to play. Actually so have some of the others who have been MIA early. Maybe it has something to do with the season on the line and/or a man named Tadhg! With The irish lad back, he and Malceski give the swans greater drive from the back line.
The swans open the lead again, but cannot finish Port off, but the lead is out to 37 points. It would take a huge effort by Port to win this one.
With Tadhg being rested during the last quarter, Port spring to life to bang on 4 unanswered goals, to put the wind up the swans, but the lead was too much and the swans ran out comfortable winners by 31 points.
Paul Bevan notched up his 50th game.

                            There is one other possibilty

That people who vote on here have NFI

That is a possibility, however, it is more probable that the people who vote here have actually watched the game they are voting on.

And the journos who report on the game dont ?

                                Really silly suggestion.

Journos tend to have depth of understanding and not just watch the players they like. They also understand that players fulfill roles and that 'flashy' play is not everything.
