    Rnd 15 v Carlton

Slow starts have been an issue, a big issue. Playing the lowly blues, should stop this trend. Well....
First 4 goals to the blues and things are not looking good. A finals spot is looking shaky, and a top 4 spot is looking impossible. Now this.
Slowly the tide was stemmed and started to flow the other way. a 2 goal (1/4 time) deficit is turn into a 4 goals half time lead with Davis picking up 3 goals in the quarter. Tireless work in the ruck from Spider - 30 hits outs and 4 goals, Hall had another 4. Malceksi was in great form, while Schneider strung 2 good games in a row.
Kennelly continued to struggle with knee problems. Top 4 spot still slightly possible.

    Rnd 16 v West Coast

Time to atone for 2 one point losses in the last 2 games against the Eagles. Hall is in doubt as is Kennelly, both are late withdrawals, and Grundy and Vogels come in. It is also the return game on Cousins after his exile, for most of the year, in front of a parochial crowd. WC dominated the first term, but did not show this on the scoreboard, the swans stayed in touch. The second qtr was very even, as Cousins picked up possessions at will. Scores are tied at 1/2 time. Leo Barry has gone off with a hamstring injury, and it showed in the 3rd, when West Coast ran away to lead by almost 5 goals. The swans, as we are now used to came storming home, to lose by a smaller margin than the rest of the game told. Eagles by 2 goals.

O'Keefe was the stand out for the swans, but he alone could not win the game,

Oooh, look out Eski, Captain and Spida are on your tail. I don't think the Eski had enough great games on the back half of the season to maintain his position, sorry Swantastic.

Spida's been in the top ten all along.
        Who'da thought??
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

            Kirk for mine.

Can we have a list of the previous winners. IIFC Goodesy has won it the previous 2 seasons?

I was thinking that too, but Willo joined the swans in 2001.

So it was our fault for not having a TLM back in 2001! He won the club B&F that year, so there is a decent chance he'd have taken out the TLM - had there been one.

When the medal was inaugurated, Luffy had just retired from the Swans, and being the cult hero that he was, it only seemed natural. Add to that his support for and participation on RWO over the years, it is only fitting the medal be named after him.

                        I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

Hall and Kennelly are back from a week rest. The Tigers are strugglling to win a game even though they have been improving. The week off seemed to work, Hall kicked 6, and Tadhg was providing plenty of run off the HB line.
Davis helped with 4 goals and Schneider 3. After a sluggish start the Swans powered away after half time to win by 11 goals, but still not a very impressive hit out against such a lowly opponent.

The demons were missing a few big names. Actually a lot of big names. As they all are at this time of the year, this game was a must win, especially given the lack of experience for the Dees. Another slow starting to the game, but thankfully it wasn't us this time. The Dees struggled to find the goals, and the Swans stormed away to a 5 goal lead at the first break. The Dees managed to score, but the Swans kept their average to 5 goal per quarter. Melbourne struggled to man up and the hard running first half, changed to a lets just get through this game unscathed. The swans did enough for the result to never be in doubt. Goal scoring was shared across many players. Buchanan had one of his best games for the year (happens with little opposition), and made the Play of the day, with a hard run through the middle of the ground, tried hard to stuff it up, but finsihed with the ball insight of goal and kicked truly.
