I really like Kieran as well but standing in front of a thundering pack is not a job for tiny tots. He has a real chance to step up next year with Schnieder gone.

Bevo's better suited himself to the midsized forwards though. He's not quite quick or agile enough for the smallest of the small. Jack is about the same height as Schneider and around an inch taller than Crouch.

With LRT and Playfair and Richards, we can use C Bolton, Barry and one of the running half backs for the midsized forwards, and Jack for back pocket.
Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

Is Jack as quick as Crouch, i know he's getting on a bit(Crouch) but none the less one off the fastest in the league about 2 years ago.

As for Bevan, yes he has limitations but he does get a dirty job done most of the time locking down the oppositions dangerous small forwards. So he is kept for back-up in these situations.

                          How creepy is this:

We trade Dempster and Schneider for pick 26.

                          Dempster's number is 26.

Schneider's number is 13, that is half of 26.

If I was a Saints supporter with their luck and a double 13 involved in a trade I wouldn't be putting their hard earned on them in 2008. In fact if you take it further there are 2 13's in pick 26, 2 13's in Dempster's number 26 and one 13 in Schneider's number = 5 x 13 = disaster.

The Saints think they have picked up a good deal but the numbers don't say that.

By the way Liz that was a fair reply to my Brennan issue. We shall see.

I think that the trades to the Saints were OK. I was optimistic that this could be Dempster's season at the start of 2007, but obviously the club had other ideas about who was to play where and he was relegated to the back blocks. They changed their mind late but I suspect the horse had bolted for Dempster who was on the disappointing side of the 2007 ledger.

Schneider I thought was very poor in EF. He was reported to have played with injuries but if you put yourself out there regardless of injury, then you pay the price for a poor performance. I thought he was pretty weak.

I agree on the point made about the Jolly signing, that could have been weighted heavily up front to allow for BIG space in a year or 2 when people retire. I too thought they could have entertained a trade for the no.24 for all the reasons previously given.

These trades have added a different slant on the squad, going for height rather than smaller types, and maybe some of those smalls in the 2's will be highly promoted in 2008. Regardless, what must happen is players who don't perform should be sacrificed for in form reserves players rather than always playing it "safe". Someone mentioned GOLD PASSES for Mathews/Crouch, well 2008 must see the end of those.

Numbers like these are sometimes confusing but incredibly deliver. Time will tell. Don't forget these numbers when the saints line up in 2008.

What if they both pick up their old numbers, then it will really be interesting.

You'd reckon Schneider will get #13 (Voss retired) but doubt Dal Santo will be handing over #26 anytime soon.
