I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................
Chickens drink - but they don't pee!
AGE IS ONLY IMPORTANT FOR TWO THINGS - WINE & CHEESE!
So, Sydney will have 40 senior players in its squad next year, and only 3 specialist ruckmen. One of whom is barely out of (oversized) nappies, and another of whom is 48 years old. We taking much of a risk, you think? Imagine the nightmare scenario where both Jolly and Everitt go down-- are we gonna get the Weagles and the Pahhhhr with the 1, 2, 3 sucker-punches of LRT, Richards and Playfair? Or drag Goodesie and his knees out of ruck retirement yet again?
Not sure how he will go at AFL level as he would be giving away a lot of height, but big Jesse White is a more than decent ruckman in the reserves.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time
With the delisting, transfer in and out and the upgrades from the rookie list
and the fact we will pick up C Bird with last pick and leave us with picks 11 and 26 that leaves us with 40 on list. I didnt think you could do that unless I have missed some players onto the veterans list. Can someone help?

We have 2 players on the outside veterans list, Michael O'Loughlin and Leo Barry if that helps?
Amazing how almost no players in their mid 20s who are on the outer, are delisted by the Swans. They all 'retire'. Especially if they are under contract. Bunch of geniuses at the Swans administration.
May be a bit of money changing hands under the table
Now this is a thread that i would expect on the ego -centric, wank session that is redandwhiteonline.com...
Adelaide have:
Maric, Griffin, Biglands, Moran and Sellar. Moran & Sellar aren't ruckmen, Biglands is coming off a knee reco. Still have 3 decent rucks though
Brisbane:
McDonald, Leuenberger, Charman and Tippett. Tippett plays for Crows, but very good ruck division anyway
Carlton:
A. O'Hailpin, Ackland, Cloke, Hampson and Jacobs.Terrible, Judd will find life in the Carlton midfield a bit harder than the eagles
Collingwood:
Fraser, Bryan and Wood. Wood is the only decent ruck and he is still pretty green
Bombers:
Chartres, McKinnon, Ryder, Laycock and Hille.McKinnon has been delisted, Ryder is not a ruckman - otherwise solid
Freo:
Warnock, Sandilands Quality but dont want an injury
Cats:
Ottens, Mooney, West and Blake. Won't want Ottens to go down now as Blake is a trier at best
Hawks:
McEntee, Taylor, Campbell, Bailey and Renouf. Have drafted well with ruck depth in mind, no stars in there though
Roos:
Hale, McIntosh and Goldstein. 2 quality rucks but no depth
Demons:
Neeves, White, Meesen, Johnson, Jamar White just keeps on going, won't want him to go down though
Power:
Minson, Lade, Giles, Deluca and Brogan. Quality top 2 but backup is questionable
Tigers:
Pattison, Grahams, Simmonds. Will need Simmonds on the park
Saints:
Van Rheeman, King, Blake, Rix, Gardiner Rossy Lyon will be crossing his fingers that King stays fit and Gardiner can regain old form as not much else there
Eagles:
Spaanderman, Cox, Seaby and Lynch. Spandermaan delisted, Lynch is a pinchhitter only. Seaby is a plodder IMO
Dogs:
Street, Skipper, Minson Hudson will be desparately needed as the other 3 are suspect.
One injury to Jolly or Everitt and we're screwed.
As others have already noted I think your analysis proves that our position is no more precarious than most of the other clubs
I would have thought that this list proves royboy42's point about decent ruck depth no numerical.
And what decent ruck depth do we have? We only have three rucks in total, one's ancient and another in nappies.
I think it shows how important ruckman are, that clubs go to great lengths to secure them. Collingwood traded a first round draft pick for a dude who's played 16 games in three years. Wouldn't happen for a midfielder.
I mean how many have we drafted? MeikelJohn, Mott, Erikson etc haven't worked out so we've had to trade in Jolly, Chambers, Ball, Everitt. And we still have a ruck problem.
Ruck is a more important position than what, say, Brennan will play - Tall flanker - Which is essentialy the same role Dempster played for us, yet Blue Steel was traded for nothing 'cause he won't have any opportunities.
