There is a public record that Cousins and Hunter were detained by police, possessing drugs, and cautioned?

Methinks that next year's Macquarie Dictionary will have a picture of Cousins next to the listing for "Schadenfreude"

And the WCE emblem next to "Denial".

They obviously thought it was of little interest - or maybe the source was unreliable and they were put off by potential legal action.

I will be very interested in how the police, AFL, West Coast and his friends and family will respond and react to this incident. If this is as serious as the Krakouer incident over 10 years ago, Benny could be in jail for a long time. Also Chick was involved, which doesn't surprise me one bit.
Agree with you about re-offending. krakouer was also convicted of rape as well as the drug dealing. Nice bloke.

                    Drug dealers should get life.

I'd suspect the latter is more likely. One would think it would be of immense public interest (whether justified or not).

That's what is great about RWO - mods prepared to put Scott's money where their mouth is and expose RWO to a defamation suit (but use the potentially defamatory excuse to shut down threads or delete posts they don't like the sounds of).

I thought that too. I'm waiting for someone to post that it was the Chasers. Perhaps we could start that rumour as see how many fall for it. Still believe arrest was by fashion police no doubt.

So far I have heard that the following have been arrested with the "Cuzz caught by the Fuzz" - Chick, Braun, Kerr and now Hunter.....

I'd believe Chick but the others???

JUdd must be laughing now. I'm sure the culture would have been at least part of the reason he left. At least he won't have to cover for the bums next year.

What has the Club done in terms of monitoring Cousens? Not much by the sound of it.

If Marion Jones relay team had to hand back their medals, what about a change of Premiers for 2006? No doubt how they won now.

I am with the people that think this whole thing is incredibly sad. Not just Ben Cousins but how it makes me reflect about people in general. A talented young man who seemed to have the world at his feet and it has come to this. Humiliation. I just feel incredibly sad, not jubilant.

Whether he is quilty or not his life is stuffed as it will be hard work and he will need a lot of support to get back from here.

Things aren't that black and white.

There are a lot of circumstances in which people are forced into both drug taking and drug dealing. The issue with Ben Cousins is that being a highly paid functioning member of society, he does not experience the external pressures that force many into situations of drug taking/dealing, and therefore his actions receive greater criticism.

I feel sad for the people who get addicted to drugs and have to resort to mugging innocent people, theft, prostitution etc to earn money to pay for their addiction.

I don't feel sorry for Ben Cousens. He had the opportunity to pay and receive the best treatment in the US. However as far as he is concerned, he doesn't have a problem. Until he admits he has a problem, I won't feel sorry for him.

I do feel sorry for his family. It must be a nightmare for them.

On the bright side, I couldn't help posting a salvation post for the weagles supportes on BF. Naughty but I'm interested to see how many might fall for it.
