No. Dependnant of course on the quantity you have.

For the most part, if you have a small personal amount and the cops don't really want to bust you, they'll confiscate the drugs and send you on your way. Probably use them later themselves..

If they DO want to bust you, well they will. Even for a small quantity that is your own personal use. But the general result of that is a $200 fine and maybe a 6mth good behaviour bond... maybe. Dependant of course on your history.

However, once you get the "trafficable" quantities, whole new ball game. You will be prosecuted and the penalties go up significantly.....

Different circumstances I'd suspect.

Highway patrol = Quota.

Beat police on a Saturday night = No quota.

Raiding police = Quota.

It's a sorry sorry story. How must his family feel, you would think he just would have done the right thing and gone straight into rehab instead of living it up. I don't like being too hard on addicts but the fact was he flew into LA for rehab and he made a decision to do something else.

Smacks of pure selfishness and arrogance. His family and friends here in Australia thinking he is going to do the right thing and he lets them down - AGAIN.

I'm pretty confident Robert Penfold hasn't made up 911 call records and admissions from hospital staff. He certainly doesn't need a huge story to help his career.

This is a guy who said he was going to rehab and wanted to continue playing in the AFL. He is also due to turn up at a hearing into bringing the game into disrepute. If he had retired after his sacking, then fair enough but this is fair game IMO.

If anything, it shows how dumb he is.
