Isn't the Summit Centre a rehab facility?

We're being led to believe that he's already at one "rehab facility", and will be moving to the Summit Centre.

It sounds to me like he's having a "little holiday" before entering the Summit Centre. If that's the case ... just say so. It'll shut everyone up (probably including me, but I doubt it).

There is nothing unusual about spending time in 2 rehab facilities. I have a number of friends and relatives that work in the field and it happens all of the time.

Fair enough Stell, but why can he get away with it for years and it all gets swept under the carpet.A prominent defence attorney was sent to jail(5 years) for drug offences,so why shouldnt benny if he has done what every body is saying. It appears sports personalities are above the law,at least Joey Johns had the guts to admit it which IMO makes him a far better man the Benny.

He is more stupid than some members of society,do you take drugs, refuse requests for testing, run from a booze bus, punch on with work colleges because if you did your employer would have gotten rid of you a long time ago for bringing the company into disrepute.

I'm sure there are dozens of rehab facilities in LA. His decision not to go straight to the Summit has been vindicated by the fact media are camped out the front.

Honestly, (with the value of hindsight) it would have been heaps easier on him if he just went straight to the rehab centre. But this is the human headline we're talking about, and he's not an especially smart one. At the moment, he IS the AFL news (apart from the bush rats and their move to the gold coast - which no-one really cares about).

Once he's "seen" to be "doing" his rehab (i.e. a photo of him entering the premises), the media will get off his back.

They will photograph it, report on it, we'll hash it out here, then all will be forgotton till the end of January when he's due back in court.

Once he's had his court appearance, it's probably the last we'll hear of him. It's not like he's going to be playing footy or anything.

Don't you mean heaps easier on the media. After all they have made right dickheads of themselves by making up stories that are blatantly not true.

We don't know whether they're true or not!
You can choose to take Bryan Cousins' word on where his son is.
Personally, I believe he has no idea where his son is, and is covering up as best he can.

Certain media are acting like rabid dogs. These cretins need to be dealt with. Anti stalking laws should include this sort of ridiculous behaviour.

That is absolute crap. Bryan was almost in tears last night pleading with the media to leave Ben alone so he can get treatment in private. Surely that is the least the media owes him.

Questioning the reactions of Ben's immediate family to this situation is in poor taste and pretty offensive IMO.

It's amazing what the public choose to care about. Because a player is adept at chasing a bit of pigskin around an oval it seems to give us the right to intrude on their private lives.

Also we seem to hold athletes to different standard to other sections of society. Are politicians subject to random drug tests (even though some would benefit by the use of performance enhancers). Entertainers behave badly but we don't demand they be kicked out of their profession. It's all a bit hypocritical.

I think once you start getting paid a lot of money for entertaining the public, you do effectively hand yourself over to the people.

That's certainly what happens. I question whether it's right for this intrusion to occur. I also question why athletes are held to higher standard than other entertainers.
