Still gutted over Nick Malceskis injury, saw the report on the News and is now hitting home that he gone for 2008. @@@@@ we are going to miss his ball usage. Was really looking forward with his development this year.
Hope he remains positive and comes back the same player.

On the positive, Malceski was probably likely to disappoint this year anyway. 2nd full season blues would have got him down, and he would have been heavilly tagged. In 2009 he will be fresh again, keen, and largely forgotten. An absolute blessing in disguise this injury.

Poo happens and unfortunately, Eski has been cruelly injured at a point in his career when he looked like he was about to move up to the next level. Damn! Thankfully we recruited Mattner - does someone in our recruiting department have a crystal ball?

Oh yeah this injury was such a blessing.
Now this is a thread that i would expect on the ego -centric, wank session that is redandwhiteonline.com...

A huge, huge loss. Roosy, and the rest of us, obviously had big plans and high hopes for the Malceski/Mattner combination. We can only hope that the old footy cliche comes true - it gives someone else a chance to step up!

                  Not happy about this injury.

Swans will miss his long accurate kicks.

Makes the Dempster trade a bigger concern.

Who can kick accurately into the forward line now?

I saw it on the news this morning.
It didn't look like it took much to damage it.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Anthony Hudson said on SEN as soon as he went down that it looked like a serious knee injury. They quickly backpeddled from that, suggesting it could be just a knock on the bone or some such, but no such luck.

It is a big blow, but the only consolation is that it is a position we have a bit of cover for. Had we lost a key back or top midfielder, we'd be totally stuffed.

I'm just thankful it wasn't a premiership player.

Mattner, that's why we recruited him. Isn't it?
